When staying in Naha Okinawa you have to get away from the central Kokusai-dori (Kokusai Street) touristy restaurants and just head a few minutes away to the business district.
After checking a few restaaurants we finally found a spot with an open table. Fridays reservations are a must.
Fresh local fish at the entrance.
Back room had about 6 tables.
Didn't spot an English menu
My only request was local foods and Orion Beeru/
Started off with some very fresh sushi. I always try to eat the tuna first and not a fan of salmon.
Then local Okinawan dishes... Eggs and spam with ketchup topping.
Forgot the name but this was similar if not Age-Dogu (fried tofu)
Aosai seaweed tempura... In Tokyo you will see this seaweed as a ramen topping.
First time ever to have tuna somen with Umi-budo (Ocean Grapes). A common dish in an Okinawan household and super easy to make
The local crew... Kensaku-san and Mia.
This is the back tatami sitting area but they also have counter seating if you want to watch the chef cook in front of ya.
A view of the counter area. Overall I really liked the super local atmosphere with all salary-men and a few local ladies. If in Naha I totally recommend it... plus the waitresses were super attentive.
