SHIMBASHI: Ryukyu-Ya Nankurunaisa Okinawan Restaurant under the train tracks... very cozy with a friendly elderly owner. (SONY RX100)

I never goto Shimbashi for dinner but there are sooooo many small little Japanese restaurants here and most of them super busy on this Friday evening.

Based on a friends recommendation we headed to Nankuru-Naisa

Prices are a tad higher than most.

The otoshi automatic appetizer was mozuku... healthy healthy.

Grad school buddy visiting from Taipei... known this guy for 13 years?

Goya champuru with Tulip meat... kind of Okinawa's version of SPAM.

This was yum... buta-no-kakuni.  Stewed pork soooo tender and flavorful.

Think this older man was the owner... very friendly.

Time for some Okinawa Awamori sake... forgot how this Kanji is read but it was an extremely smooth awamori.  Ordered a few.

To close out the night of course Taco Rice.

Good point for ladies... The restroom isnt shared!  Quite unusual for older izakaya's.

Overall a very popular spot under the tracks but get ready for a neighboring smokers and prepare talk really loud... even though the rains were overhead you can only hear them from the quiet restroom.

KICHIJOJI: Omuni Shokudo Korean Restaurant... what a fantastic Groupon Deal! Sooooo much food and friendly staff.

I tend to average about 5,000 yen for dinner depending on how much everyone drinks... but Groupon really saves the day with course plus drinks!

Awesome Korean 13 item 5,400 dinner deal for only 2,500 yen!

The all you can drink menu... huge!

This wasn't part of the dinner plan but they serve A5 ranked beef... looks good.

More things on the regular dinner menu... this looks fun.

And so the course starts!

This was the main dinner item... Cheese Dakgalbi.  This was simply massive that could easily feed 4-5 people.  We sure had a hard time finishing it.

Of course I had to order the Korean Makkoli sake.

Chap Chae... stir fried noodles and veggies tasty.

Korean pancake... huge!

Close with Sundubu-jjigae

The manager/waiter Ko-san was super friendly, the interior of the restaurant was super spacious and this dinner course really hit the spot.
