HONG KONG: The Legend of Din Tai Fung! Yup I was in HK for a few days and Yelp led me to this spot!

A quick business trip to Hong Kong and when my boss asked me what I wanted to have for dinner I immediately took to Yelp and found Din Tai Fung...  I didn't know it was super famous in Tokyo.

Really loved this Blue Girl beer....super light and smooth.

The service here was so attentive and super polite.  The waitress even pours your beer.

Lots of busy dumpling chefs.

One of the more expensive items HKD 180... beef.  A bit chewy.

Now this is what I came for!  Tiny dumplings Xiao Long Bao
I haven't eaten many of these dumplings before but I guess it was good.

Very plump shrimp was HKD 180 also.

Gyoza filled with a plump shrimp.

Garlic flavored veggies.

This beef soup was soooo super tender.  Might have to try it with noodles next time.

Taiwanese Tantanmen noodles...

You can ask the staff to split the noodles into these tiny bowls.

A client spilled something on her shirt and the staff provided us with this Stain Roller.

Overall I really liked the casual spacious atmosphere here.  The service was just perfect and actually I went back the next day as everyone left for Tokyo.  But BEST if you go with 2-3 people so you can try many of the items off the big menu.  See you again in June!

KICHIJOJI: Richuen Yakiniku! OMG! Meats were all so good that the I drank so little beer. HUGE Place.

Business dinner and in a town that many of us don't frequently visit we had to access Tabelog to check out the Yakiniku rankings... BOOM 3.54 points is quite good.

We were guided to the very very far end of the restaurant that can accommodate a party of 8.

Everything pictured... The waiter and many of the staff were from Nepal so no worries if you don't speak any Japanese.

We left the all the ordering to the president of our clients company... a huge foodie.
Gotta check out these spots he took us to!

Drink Menu.

They use charcoal rather than gas here....nice.

Look at that color!

This meat was super chunk so we cut it up with some scissors... even rare it was soooo tender.

In Japanese the final dish is called "shi-meh" Normally its soup or a noodle dish.

This place was just fabulous and our Nepalese waiter super nice and attentive.  If you want something wonderful to eat in Kichijoji gotta goto this place!  Oh, there is seating for 270 people so if you are a visiting rugby team please go.
