Every few months my friend and I visit an elderly man who once owned a popular bar in a tiny side street of Ikebukuro... now lives alone so we bring over some food, a few bottle of sake talk about random things. Normally after the visit we head to Ramen Dai in Nerima thats very Jiro style but not this night.
Hit up the wildly popular Insosho in Nerima. There is ALWAYS a line here!
If unsure what to order remember to push the top left corner button... friend went for the spicy ramen just below my selection.
U shaped counter seating.
Lots of veggies and a few slices of pork. Not so tender.
The chef!
Very flavorful broth.
Always a fan of thick noodles.
Friends spicy ramen.... said it was very good!
Overall you really can't go wrong here. Tabelog foodies give it a solid 3.58 points. Interesting that there is a fairly big female following here... which means its good! They also serve dipping noodles tsukemen http://tokyobelly.blogspot.com/2013/11/nerima-koi-sai-men-inoshow-ramen-how.html
Leave you with a few pics from back in the day... Traditionally in Japan you call a bar owner "Master" or Masutaaaa. This must have been about 9 years ago.
