With all the delicious Hakata style ramen in Fukuoka I find myself at this little 290 yen ramen shop just off a long shopping arcade. Its just sooo cheap!
Ramen starts at 290 yen then as you add toppings it tends to add up.. SO!
I suggest going cheap.
Both chef and waiter were Vietnamese guys.
Gyoza sauces.
Thin slices of pork.
Standard skinny Hakata style noodles. You can let the chef know how you prefer it boiled. Normal, Kata (hard), Bari-Kata (Super Hard - almost not boiled).
Crushed sesame seed seasoning. Adds just a hint of flavor, not overwhelming
A think layer of white lard/oil sat on the ramen. This is normally done to keep the temperature hot while you eat... and this place did serve a hot bowl of ramen. Flavor had a very slight stink to it which was nice. But overall its rather a light broth that anyone would probably enjoy.
Overall its kinda like going to McDonalds... you just can`t go wrong cost performance wise. The hot broth definitely warms you up! Oh 290 yen is tax inclusive. Long counter eating and there a bunch of elderly guys eating while I was there at 3pm.
