FUKUOKA FUJISAKI: Hakata Menchanko-Tei Fujisaki Branch! Recommended by foodie Mari... Chanko Meets Ramen... a little fail. (Sony RX100M2, Nikon D7100)

Everybody loves sumo staple Chanko Nabe and of course we love Ramen but what happens when you combine the two?  You get Men (noodles) Chanko Tei all in one bowl!

Lots of combo deals at very reasonable prices

Daily specials are slightly discounted.

Going with the standard Menchanko with a side of gyoza.

Touch pad ordering system...a few older folks were having a hard time with this. But you know my Japanese good like that.

Here it is! Taken with my jumbo Nikon D7100 Tamron 16-300mm Lens.

Yuzu and Red pepper paste for added flavor

I guess for the price its a very good deal but visually it such a lonely pot... I mean there are barely any toppings on it.

Few slices of pork

Soup had a light shio flavor... this is totally ramen.

Gyoza was wonderful.. super crispy on the outsiide.

They had a shop in Hawaii! But its permanently closed now.

Isn`t this totally ramen noodles.  When thinking I will have to poop out this rather normal ramen noodles I just ate half.

Lots of counter seating for 1 or 2.

Oden station!  Self serve I think.

Small gift shop at the entrance selling Siracha sauce! Must be the Hawaii influence.

Lots of frozen Chanko.

Lots of parking in the rear.

Cost performance wise its rather a good filling deal but honestly I would rather eat a great bowl of ramen somewhere and then visit a hotpot place for that chanko experience.  Lots of salary men dining for lunch here... there was a slight line when I left.  Guess its a local favorite.
