OSAKA KITAHAMA: Mos Burger... Mountain Ocean Sun! Japan`s version of an upscale McDs. Rarely go but hits the spot. (Sony RX100M2)

MOS Burger in Japan is a bit of an upscale Burger joint vs. McDonalds

Least expensive item on the menu is the standard MOS Burger 390 yen.  No $1 menu here.

For a few years now premium bread has been a boom in Japan. Its 600 yen for half a loaf here... but some can go as 1,000 yen for a plain loaf. 

The dine in area was very spacious... counter seating and tables.  A nice area to get away from the heat or just read a book.

Not a pretty sight and rather small. But the special sauce and minced onions are great. 

This was my goto burger spot when I lived in Okinawa 20 years ago... brings back memories but I never crave it for the quality.  Have moved on to more specialty burger places in Tokyo.

OSAKA UMEDA: Manneken Belgian Waffles! Chocolate coating always my fav. (Sony RX100M2)

Manneken is scattered around Japan and Mari first introduced me to this brand way back in 2010.

Can`t stop at one but should have also ordered a plain one thats glazed in sweet something.

Thin circular plastic sits above the chocolate.

Perfect with a glass of milk! If you ever spot Manneken in Japan give it a try! Its baked regularly all day and so fresh.

Restaurants in Osaka seem to be much busier than Tokyo... almost everywhere is a full house.

Went simple with a few Oden orders.

After a minute of being seating this nice old retired guy started chatting me up... then a few moments later he asked a lady sitting next to me to scoot over and kanpai. 

Sat between the friendliest people.  Lady was from Hyogo prefecture in town to watch her favorite Idol group perform. 

Shared our bottles of Asahi Beer. 

His hobby gambling a bit on horse racing.

If you are traveling along definitely visit Osaka... the friendliest foodie city.
