Again my favorite client took us out to dinner... and again it was pretty amazing. There are only 4 tables and when we entered we noticed an elderly underworld looking gentlemen with 2 beautiful young ladies dressed in kimonos...
On Tabelog the average per person price here is JPY 10,000 - 15,000. We some how managed to exceed this by the end of the night.
I've been to many different Yakiniku BBQ restaurants in Tokyo but never have I seen pieces as big as a steak... wow. This is a specific kind of beef called Iga Beef
Everyone got a pretty big size salad bowl.
Each piece is dipped in a special yakitori sauce then placed on the coal grill.
No knives in sight... I was able to tear apart little pieces with my little wooden chopsticks! This thing was soooooooooooooooOOooooo tender! Wow... melty soft.
Cuvee du Pape Jean Paul II Morey Saint Denis 1er Cru 2014
Between the 5 of us (1 non drinker) we enjoyed 3 bottles of this... it was so incredibly smooth and went well with the beef.
Another cut of tender meat....
The meat was sitting out at our table for about 1 hour and the fat slowly melted away...
TENDER... oh my goodness.
We close with pickled vegetables and a bowl of white rice.
If you every goto Osaka and have a budget of about 20,000 yen per person this is a great choice over a sushi course that can run you the same amount. 3 bottles of wine and amazing cuts of beef was... was... a whopping JPY 140,000 yen for 6 people. If your budget can handle it you gotta give it a try.
