Friend of mine who formerly owned Hawaii's Own Coffee Cafe in Asagaya mentioned there was a Hawaii themed Ramen shop in Ikebukuro so we gave it a try this day...
We arrived at 6:15pm and already it was nearly a full house (Evening Hours 6-9pm or when the soup runs out). Its just such a cozy spacious relaxing atmosphere... very very unusual for a ramen shop.
Top Left Button... house recommended selection was the Shio-Soba Spam Set 930yen. They serve Kona Beer and Spam Musubi too.
I think we both went for the Shio Soba...
Little side dish of fried rice.
Ramen had a great texture to it... the volume of noodles was very generous. It just felt like a friendly bowl of ramen... like going home.
Sui-Gyoza...
The Owner/Chef... very cool guy.
And very family friendly... I've never see little children at Ramen spots in Ikebukuro.
Restroom immaculately clean.
Wish I could explain the ramen a bit better but this was our second spot after a few hours at Isomaru Seafood Izakaya and their great 1,000yen 2hr Nomihoudai plan... phew. Anyways I'll definitely be back at Hulu-Lu for the friendly atmosphere and overall a great bowl of ramen. OH! Its actually the highest ranked ramen spot in Ikebukuro with a solid 3.63 foodie score! Yeah, random cow in Ikebukuro... http://tabelog.com/tokyo/A1305/A130501/13136428/
