Its sooo rare to spot Jamaican food in Japan and in Okayama there was just 1 place service Jerk Chicken... Had an amazing time at Jerk Man in Osaka where they grilled the pork in a barrel.
Walk down this tiny corridor for about 20 meters.
There it is under the blue moon.
Jamaican Green oshibori! Nice touch
Jerk Chicken with rice and peas 920 yen!
Red Strip a mighty 750 yen!
The otoshi (automatic appetizer/table charge) is a cheese filled roll.. think he charged 300 yen for this.
Very crispy and flavorful
Lone chef cooking up the Jerk Chicken.
Owner Chef Nagae-san....super cool.
Clever logo.
This is the first time I have ever tried Jerk Chicken made in a frying pan. It was incredibly juicy. He soaks the chicken in spice sauce for 2 days before service.
Love the kidney beans.
The sauce kind of reminded me of a curry spice. Another recommended dish by a regular was the shrimp curry... maybe he is influenced by Indian dishes.
Nice little Habanero kick!
Several tables for 4 lining the wall.
Restroom was unusually spacious and extremely clean here!
Now this Candle that oddly looks like Cousin Itt from the Adams Family has been burning for 18 years! What a clever thing to do... Must be worth thousands.
The candle was actually not lit when I entered but he lit it up the the photo.
The chef was a nice quirky dude and I sat next to a regular who shared all her favorite restaurants in the area... Rather than checking google or tabelog rankings definitely ask a local. Will share on my next post! After a few days I sure did get another craving! But my time in Okayama was very limited so will visit another day!!

I`m pretty sure it was imported because the demand for Stripe is very low in Japan. I`ve only seen it a few times at Jerk Chicken spots.
