With the Omicron COVID19 variant going bonkers in Tokyo its time to start enjoying a bit of Take-Out options. AND! Found an amazing deal at Jonathon`s restaurant. 1,025 yen Tandori Chicken on a bed of Mexican Pilaf for only 500 yen (Tax Inclusive!!)
At the entrance there is a tablet specific for take out items.
1,025 yen on the regular menu! For an additional 200 yen you can get 1.5x portion of pilaf.
Campaign running from January 27 to February 9, 2022.
MY BENTO!!!
The actual photo on the website... hmm... i see more salad here.
Mexican pilaf was very heavy... kinda like a thick mushy seasoned rice.
The 2 pieces of tandori chicken was soooo tender and juicy.
The 2nd piece.
Overall what a deal for only 500 yen! Japan can sure be friendly for anyone on a budget... as you know the average salary in Japan iis 4,000,000 yen (roughly USD 35K). Of course you an spend $300 on a omakase sushi course in Ginza but then there is a conveyer belt sushi option too. A great place to live.

Steve, with more and more restaurants installing tablet-based ordering screens, are there buttons | options to change the language display from Japanese to Korean, Chinese, or English?
ReplyDeleteIf there are, could you kindly photograph the screen showing how it appears?
I remember seeing something like this in subway stations when buying tickets for the railway(s). (I now have a PASMO card.)
Sure! I will post more photos of the tablet language options.
