AZABU JUBAN: Ta=Chika Okinawan Restaurant... 3 fans spewing hot air!

Finally Azabu Juban.... Hope to post more in this expat and celebrity town.  A group of 4 of us headed to Ta-Chica ターチカ for a bit of classy Okinawan food~.

Went for the Butano-Kakuni (seasoned block pork), Okinawan Soba, Goya Champuru and some seasoned veggies... all for 1,000yen.

Of the tree of us one gal had this #2 selection... ankake something.

My Plate!  It was very nicely presented for Okinawan.  I'm a huge fan of Oki and of course I totally recommend you give Shinjuku's (Kabukucho) Okinawan Paradise Izakaya with friendly service, live music n cozy interior.. Plus great casual food.   The Okinawan soba here was all wrong... noodles way too al'dente and lacked any chewiness and the broth had no depth.

The best part of the meal was this huge fried rice ball with pieces of seasoned pork chunks inside.  When you are halfway done ask for a container of hot broth to mix into the rice to make it soupy like ochazuke.

See that's Fan #1 on the floor there...  yeah, we were all sweating in this basement restaurant.

And fan #2 and #3 also surrounded us... but with nearly no air conditioning it was quite uncomfortable.  Interior consisted of an L shaped counter overlooking the chef, private tatami seating for about 10 and two tables for 4.

Anyways... the basement branch Ta-Chica is a bit fancy and the ladies said the 3rd floor Taachi is a bit more casual as I noticed their lunch board outside with Taco Rice for 850yen.   The volume was absolutely fantastic but it was just too warm downstairs.  If you don't mind sweating a little then go!  Nearly 90% of the clientele were OL's!  Japan is safe... pets always tied up outside.
