AKASAKA: Ogo Ono Loa Hawaiian Food! Revisited for Poke during Covid19... friendly chef. (Sony RX100)

Been a huge fan of Ogo's for a solid 15 years and just had to revisit as Coronavirus restrictions were eased in Tokyo and restaurants started to follow certain rules to reopen.

I'm always a 2 combo plate with 100 yen drink dessert set! This day it was Kahlua Pig and Ahi Poke!

First time to get served bottle water... and my Hawaiian Plantation Sweet Tea!

I was the only person here at around 1pm.  The chef mentioned due to so many large firms in the area on Telework the lunch crowd has dwindled.

My Plate!

Always love my Hawaiian Poke but seemed a bit on the minimal side this day.  You can check out my previous entries but it was always better when the owner Ryoji made the food.  He as moved back to Hawaii to start another restaurant business.

Macaroni Mac-Salad is always good here!

Huge portion of Kahlua shredded pork!

Kept an eye out for this rainbow!  Its issued to business following Covid19 safety precautions.

The Haupia dessert was sooooo yum!

Overall I am all for supporting small restaurants and if in the area looking for a cozy spot please give Ogo's a try.  The dinner menu will have more Hawaii options!

Nice Toyota Century spotting... this thing costs a little less than a Bentley Flying Spur!

AKASAKA: Ogo's Hawaiian for Portuguese Sausage Chili and Spicy Tuna Poke combo~

I was at the US Embassy getting a Notary then strolled off to Akasaka to my favorite Hawaiian restaurant in all of Tokyo~... Ogo Ono Loa.

I always go for the combo plates... Today the Spicy Tuna Poke and Portuguese Sausage Chili.  Plus 100 yen for a drink and haupia dessert.

No longer the little counter seat for lone diners... lots of tables and behind me there are semi-booth type tables for 4-5 people.

Here we go!

The Poke was delicious as usual... lots of fresh Tuna and chunks of Avocado.

The Chili had a homey feel to it... like something you mom would back back in the US.

My haupia dessert... nice!

This is just such a relaxing spot and the Waitress Akiko-san and Owner/Chef Ryoji are super friendly.  Hawaiian tunes on the BGM perfect.  If you really really miss Hawaii this is the only spot to go... anything else in Tokyo is way too commercialized and a bit fake.

My spottings for the day.  Ferrari F430 Scuderia in Akasaka

Maybach at Midtown Park

Rolls Royce Phantom and Audi R8 at the Ritz Carlton

Beautiful S63 AMG at Mercedes Connection

And finally a Porsche GT2 RS on the tow~.

AKASAKA: Ogo Ono-loa Hawaii for Plate Lunch! Owner Chef Ryoji has move to Hawaii but Japanese Chef keepin it real.

Its probably been a few years since I last visit Ogo's in Akasaka.  Since 2006 this place was always the go to place with my Hawaii grad school mates.

Scene never changes... located in a building full of hostess bars.

Went for 2 selection combo plate with Poke and Kalua Pic 1,200 yen then you can get a drink and haupia for only 100 yen extra.  Sorry didn't take a pic of the lunch menu.

At first the volume looked a bit low but it sure was a struggle to finish everything.  The poke yum... kalua pig yum.... and the macaroni salad super yum!  There is something very comforting about Hawaiian food at Ogos.

Poke!

Hawaiian Pepper Firewater produced by Ogo's was perfectly balanced with just enough spiciness and flavor. Used it for my pork.

Poke sat on a bed of seaweed furikake.

Long timer Akiko-san was still here.  If are from Hawaii or really want authentic Hawaiian food in Tokyo this is the ONLY place to go!  My previous visits: http://tokyobelly.blogspot.jp/search?q=ogo
