OMOTESANDO: IL Pacioccone revisited for 1,050 Daily Pizza Special!

Haircut at T.S. RAIZ in Omotesando then off to one of my favorite Italian lunch spots, IL Pacioccone!

I was alone so opted for the 1st floor counter seating... seats 4.

The bread here is excellent... topped with salt and herbs... crispy on the outside and warm on the inside.

Went for the day's lunch Pizza special... topped with anchovies, olives... and some other things with a Napoli pizza base.   Tasty and the crust was perfectly chewy.

Spicy olive oil provided a great kick to the pizza

Yogurt topped with pineapple... sweet and light enough to enjoy after a heavy pizza meal.

There are several choices for the closing drink.  I went for some hot tea.

Where dinner pizza only prices begin at 1,680yen you can't go wrong with a 1,050yen pizza meal.  There are 4 other choices to select from on the Pizza menu plus several pastas.

Once again... another great 1,000yen lunch!

EBISU: Tsukumo "99" Ramen... sold out of the Hokkaido Cheese~

I had been out for nearly 12hrs... Wedding chapel at 3pm, Grand Hyatt Tokyo reception dinner from 4-7:45pm, after party for bride/grooms friends from 8-11pm... then a final bar for those still left standing til 3am... what a loooong day.

Decided to head over to try some Tonkotsu ramen topped with Hokkaido Cheese but it was sold out!  Oh well....  http://www.tukumo.com/topping/9.html

Free toppings...

Very spicy seasoned bean sprouts

No smorking!  Most excellent... The yellow sign lists options that will alter the standard ramen if you like.  Hard//Soft noodles, Heavy flavored soup or light and alot or a little fatty pork oil.

Only 650yen and hit the spot...

3:30am and I was just too tired.  The staff is extremely friendly and it had been a very long time since my last visit but they remembered me...

If you are in Ebisu and want some standard ramen that will please everyone then give Tsukumo a try!  Friendly staff... budget ramen... can't go wrong.

ROPPONGI: Grand Hyatt Hotel... Wedding Food!

Good friend of mine from grad school in Hawaii finally got married!  A beautiful ceremony at the Grand Hyatt Hotel...  Just wanted to share the food menu just in case you decide to celebrate that special occasion here.

Salmon... shrimp... white fish sashimi... Not a big fan of raw salmon but was presented very nicely.

Jumbo shrimp wrapped in prosciutto on a bed of risotto... this shrimp was soooo good.

2 types of bread made with Milk

Grilled white fish on a circular eggplant...

Icy ice cream.

The best part of the meal... beef!  Very tender filet mignon... yum!

Dinner closed with a very big dessert... strawberry ice cream was probably my favorite... tasted like Hagen Daaz.

The wedding cake~...

Shot with the Hawaii graduate crew... was a great time.

KANDA: Yotteke (酔ってけ) Yakitori/Kushiyaki for a few 280yen beeru's

Just one station over is Tokyo Station with its very posh Hi-Rise A-Class office buildings that include the Marunouchi area and posh restaurants with prices to match.. but neighboring this central Tokyo district is the tiny station of Kanda thats filled with small salaryman Izakaya's, Pachinko Parlors and Crows (guys in black suits/trench coats) trying escort you into hostess clubs...

Our search for some cheap beer led us to Yotteke (pretty sure this means get tipsy/drunk and leave)... 280yen for drafts was a good lure.  Otoshi (small appetizer) is always included when you order alcohol at Japanese restaurants.

Potato salad...

Noticed they carried Okinawan Awamori... and especially Awa-Moe!  Though I didn't try any it is on my list.

First spotting of Awa-Moe on The Okinawa Times Youtube Channel

Burner for the Yakitori...

Kushi-Age dipping sauce

5 kinds of mixed Kushiage for 580yen.

Bonjiri (chicken butt), negi and pork I think... Chicken butt may sound odd but its very juicy, tender with a hint of crispy on the outside and quite addictive...

Long counter seating in the entrance and there are tables in the back... friend commented it was extremely smokey back there so I suggest sticking to the counter.

Give Kanda a try if you are ever in the Tokyo Station area... lots of tiny shops and it will only take you 5-10 minutes to scope out the are before selecting an interesting Izakaya.

OCHANOMIZU: Ganesha Ghar... A new discovery in JP Indian Curry

Former co-worker invited me out to check out an Indian spot he found via http://ponpare.jp/kanto/ .   An amazing 2,815yen meal for 980yen... how can you go wrong?

Course begins with a 400yen beer

We actually arrived at 5:50pm (shop opens at 6pm) but when we left around 7 it was still empty.  Think the hidden location in the back alleys of Ochanomizu may have been a reason.

Yogurt salad with a hint of curry seasoning.

Very juicy and tender Chicken Tikka with some spicy onions (sooo tasty) and a I think a rolled crispy Papad.

Sag Paneer Spinach and Cheese vegetable curry... had a very thick creamy texture and I didn't realize it had cheese inside, the texture was so similar to Chicken. (1,000yen)

Butter Chicken but not the usual butter/yellowy looking curry but there seemed to be a hint of tomato mixed into this... probably our favorite curry of the night.  Had a nice spicy kick and deep tasty flavor. (1,100yen)

Meal closed with some Vanilla Ice Cream with Mango topping.

Indian restaurants are great for lunch as you can get a great dish of curry, drink and most spots have all you can eat Nan for around 1,000yen but dining can take you into a totally different price range that opens up so many other options in Tokyo. If you aren't on a budget and in the mood for Indian I have to hands down recommend Ganeshar Ghar where curry prices are less than most... plus service was friendly, great Indian music on the BGM and shop was very clean.

Shop: Ganeshar Ghar Ochanomizu Branch.
