Back in 2009 Mari introduced me to Hakata Tenjin in Shibuya and since then I havent really gone back because there are soooo many ramen options in Tokyo..
But after dinner in Shimbashi we all headed to nearby Hakata Tenjin for a closing bowl of ramen.
Back in the day ramen started at 500 yen with 1 free Kaidama.. but its now around 700 yen with no free 2nd helping of noodles.
Only got the Nori (seaweed) Ramen because of the presentation.
So many staff on duty. I think everyone was from Southeast Asia.
The soups is really nice.... Totally reminded me of the Fukuoka hakata ramen soup.
Noodle were on the slightly boiled hard side also known as Kata-Men or Bari-Kata.
Hide ordered a ramen with a huge portion of Judas's ear thats gelatinous and grows on trees. For some reason my stomach couldnt digest this and it came straight out as is... kinda gross.
My other friend Nobu had a totally different bowl color... he ordered Miso Ramen! Might have to try that next time.
Free garlic topping at the table.
Overall the soup was nice but the noodles were just way too hard for me. Im more of a thicker chewy noodle guy with a softer texture. See you again in 10 years if Im still alive ne.
