Did a short Staycation at the brand new Best Western Hotel Fino Tokyo Akasaka (sure is a long name) just across the street and my foodie search led me to Miroku Standing Yakitori Bar!
Draft beers start at 570 yen for a small glass.
Didn`t see any menu`s in English here.
This chilled cucumber with white miso is a must! The miso had such an addicting flavor... perhaps a hint of garlic or onion.
Lucky to score a seat near the grill but pretty much the entire shop as some angle view of the chef at work. Can get bit smokey at the ends of the grill.
Tonights specials.
Always love to get the Nikomi (stewed beef / pork intestines) thats simmered in a very flavorful stew.
But it was definitely a bit on the too sweet side so added a little red pepper.
A friend of mine randomly came in a few seconds after me and was seating right next to me.. he suggested trying the beef. Sure. Extremely flavorful tare sauce...
They ordered the overflowing Nihonshu sake.
Tsukune was probably my favorite item.
Super friendly chef... was taking a photo of him grilling then a thumbs up sign appeared.
The staff is great here
Chef`s meishi business card.
The random friend who I haven`t seen for years just to my left with his bilingual date.
Mouthwash and supplies in the restroom.
Overall this place just had a great vibe. Staff was attentive and friendly, I`m a total fan of standing Japanese restaurants and the food didn`t disappoint. Definitely worth a visit. OH! Happy Hour is from 4-6pm with drink being 360 yen.
