YOYOGI: Brand New Yoyogi Gyoza... well almost the interior was fully carried over from the old soba shop.

Always like to support new businesses and even more so if they serve gyoza!

I assumed this was a brand new restaurant but after a little research the previous soba restaurant that once occupied this spot closed down... and rebranded as Chinese Gyoza shop.

Draft beer as a hefty 450 yen...

Went for the standard gyoza... enjoyed the chewy outside wrap.

There was very little to the inside of the gyoza... bits of cabbage.

Sat near the kitchen but the ventilation system quite bad for a new shop... Once was definitely enough and think the full house this night was due to the grand opening 20% off.  My guess is that customers will definitely fade out... just not a comfortable place to eat.  But the Chinese staff was attentive.

OOSAKI: Yakiniku Koyo... 2 years later and its still super tender delicious! Run by a little old lady who loves to paing. (SONY RX100)

My boss likes this spot so much that we usually try to go after tradeshows at Tokyo Big Sight.

Menu items... Kalbi 1150 yen and Harami 1700. My two most favorite types of beef here.

Original paintings by the little elderly owner.

Gas grills... they will change the mesh thingy when it gets black.

This was probably the harami... oh my goodness.

Think this was the Rosu meat... not too much fat so has a nice meaty texture.

Not too much of this kind of intestine and cow parts...

Kalbi! Yuumm... so melty.

Boss showing me a temple that has a bunch of cats...   Few people at the table had cats so subject came up. A shot of my favorite stray cat.

My colleague and I closed with a bowl of Sundubu... passed on the dessert.

He sure loves his soup super spicy... phew.  Anyways reservations is a must and Osaki is definitely not a touristy spot but just a few stops from Shibuya on the JR Line.  You gotta goooo!

NAKANO: Niku (meat) Sushi... Mega Hi-Balls only 280 yen until 7pm! HUUUGGGEEEE! So sad to see Horse sushi here. (SONY RX100)

You really gotta wander around Nakano to find the best happy hour deals and this place did not disappoint!  Lured in by a friendly waitress outside and meat sushi sounded yum.

Most of the sushi requires 2 orders so be careful.  The nice manager allowed us to just get 1 serving each.

I didn't realize they actually served horse meat until I peeked into the menu... lots of the meat sushi items were all horse too.

Torching commences.

Ordered a beef and pork sashimi thats blasted with torch at your tale... was hoping for tender raw met that was slightly braised but this was full on torched until there was no pink left.

There is an L shaped counter seating at the entrance and in the back lots tables... great thing this night that there was no smokers in sight.

This is how huge the Mega Hi-Balls were... they normally run between 800 to 1,000 yen at most Izakayas.

Greaat mix of J-Pop 80's thru 90's on the BGM.

They have English Menu's!

Free Ice Cream on your way out.

Friendly chef...

The sushi items can be rather expensive but just order a few cheap items and definitely enjoy the super happy hour that also includes beers too.
