OMOTESANDO: IL Pacioccone for daily Pizza special and home made pudding :)

Seems I've been frequenting IL Pacioccone after my irregular visits to http://ts-raiz.com/ (if you need a haircut ask for owner/stylist Okazaki-san).  They also have a branch in Hawaii http://www.yelp.com/biz/raiz-salon-honolulu

Waiter suggested the daily Pizza special...

Never realized there was a 2nd branch in Minami Aoyama...

The Cheese pizza with Italian salami and fresh onion (new crop) arrived... as usual its easily so much large and thicker than most lunch pizza spots.  The salami was a nice change...

Fresh warm bread with olive oil.

Was alone so sat on the 1st floor counter seating (seats 4) and the only location in the restaurant that allows smoking.  2nd floor is all no-smoking... nice!

Daily dessert special that comes with the 1,050yen lunch was a very large piece of home made pudding.  Was so difficult to finish after the huge pizza.

Lunch closes with your choice of coffee or tea.

No smoking sign... and never realized they didn't allow photography or phones inside.  I assume tables are quite close together and camera/mobile phone shutter sounds can be distracting over dinner.

Another filling meal :).  Next time I'll have to give Pizza a rest and go for some pasta~.

If you are in the area there is a cool Ferrari dealership... 3 Californias and 1 Ferrari 458 parked outside in the rain.

OMOTESANDO: IL Pacioccone revisited for 1,050 Daily Pizza Special!

Haircut at T.S. RAIZ in Omotesando then off to one of my favorite Italian lunch spots, IL Pacioccone!

I was alone so opted for the 1st floor counter seating... seats 4.

The bread here is excellent... topped with salt and herbs... crispy on the outside and warm on the inside.

Went for the day's lunch Pizza special... topped with anchovies, olives... and some other things with a Napoli pizza base.   Tasty and the crust was perfectly chewy.

Spicy olive oil provided a great kick to the pizza

Yogurt topped with pineapple... sweet and light enough to enjoy after a heavy pizza meal.

There are several choices for the closing drink.  I went for some hot tea.

Where dinner pizza only prices begin at 1,680yen you can't go wrong with a 1,050yen pizza meal.  There are 4 other choices to select from on the Pizza menu plus several pastas.

Once again... another great 1,000yen lunch!

OMOTESANDO: NALU 76 Cafe for a hint of Mexican and Hawaiian :)

On a late Sunday afternoon in search of a place in Omotesando without a wait... well its all about timing as Japanese are out and about in waves on the weekend.  But what ultimately caught my eye was the Taco Rice (a huge fan) and the Loco Moco (yeah, got my MBA in Hawaii)~.

Went with one Mexican Rice Gratin with Salad and my Taco Rice~.  Every order comes with a small radish soup and a choice of coffee or oolong tea.

The Mexican Gratin was nice... topped with melty chedder cheese and chili... yup, that ever so rare chili spotting in Tokyo is a delight.

My Taco Rice topped with an egg and the beef under it was just like taco meat from the US... very very flavorful.  It wasn't very filling but tasty.

For an extra 200yen you can try the daily cake special in a shop that regular cakes/pastry goes for 500yen.  It was NY Style Cheesecake with a very secret ingredient.  I immediately knew what it was when I started coughing profusely with one little bite... there was a heavy dose of black pepper in this... why why why?  Needless to say I attacked the bottom later of tasty crust and said farewell to the peppery cheese.

Interesting concept NALU Cafe is... there is a beauty salon in the basement and 2nd floor of the property.  I noticed a very beauty salon smell rising from the basement... didn't know it until I took a peek downstairs.  Don't expect too much from this place but it will slightly fulfill your Mexican craving.  The lowly ranking of 3.06 on the foodie ranking website is painfully low but I guess there are better options in Omotesando.

OMOTESANDO HILLS: Golden Brown Burger Shop... Fries that reach da sky!

Friend of mine with the perfect Aussie accent invited me out for a lunch Burger in posh Omotesando Hills... with tenants like Harry Winston and Jimmy Choo what kind of price will these burgers command~?

There are no special lunch sets (drink, salad, dessert etc) but you will get a mountain load of chewy fries with every order.  Burgers start at 900yen to 1,350yen.

Interior is very comfortable and clean...

Mayuko ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger...

I picked up the 1,350yen Avocado Cheese Burger... first impression was that this burger is very pretty... kind of an odd choice of words but the avocado was perfectly sliced and cheese perfectly melted only on the burger.  Lettuce extra crispy and Tomato very juicy...

Itadakimasu~.  Overall a solid burger... can't say anything bad about it... If you have the urge for hamburgers this will definitely hit the spot but perhaps won't make you craving for a second visit.  Oh, the amount of chewy french fries were massive!  I couldn't finish.

We entered at 12:15pm and the shop was fairly full but by 1pm it was totally empty.  I guess the rather low foodie ranking of 3.17pts says it all... maybe the other alternatives in Omotesando/Harajuku area attracts more burger fans.

1pm... where is everyone?

I don't think I'll be back but if you want a satisfying clean burger in a posh atmosphere of Omotesando Hills then give it a go~.

...and if you are a car fan there are always exotics parked in the area.  Beautiful Ferrari 458 nearly got backed into by that older C-Class Mercedes... phew... only inches away.

AOYAMA/OMOTESANDO: IL Pacioccone Revisted! This time 3,780yen Fisso Del Giorno for two.

For address details follow the link on my previous entries:  http://tokyobelly.blogspot.com/2010/04/omotesando-il-pacioccone-again-1000yen.html
Truffle topping Pasta!? Mari was locked onto the truffle... so we passed on the great 1,000yen fixed lunch menu and went for the 3,780yen Fisso Del Giorno for two.

Antipasto.  Mozzarella balls were great! Tomatoes seasoned in Basil.

This pasta was amazing...Truffle shavings, mushrooms, bacon and pasta was egg based.

Switched the non-tomato sauce based special pizza for Mari's favorite...

Tiramisu, Chocolate Cake and Milk Ice Cream (sweet condensed milk flavor).

Lunch ended with a selection of tea.

The bill... slightly seasoned with tomato sauce and olive oil.

Took a few slices of pizza home.  This place is always amazing... and hands down our favorite Italian restaurant in Tokyo.  Just can't beat the friendly service.  If you live in the Ebisu/Nishi Azabu/Omotesando Area its just a 10-15min walk to the spot on Roppongi-Dori.
