Sneaky lunch menu that upsells ya.  Normally a Thai lunch in Tokyo is about 1,000 yen and it includes a drink and salad.  But here it can add up.

The music on the BGM was just too loud and a bit annoying... 

Glass of apple juice and a side of Tom yam soup 1,600 yen.  The soup was insanely spicy... so spicy that it just over powered the flavor, couldn`t finish it at all.  Chicken meat was dry... The best part was the salad with lots of cucumbers and vegetable squares. 

The Google reviews were rather positive but overall the Khao Man Gai was just too dry. Honestly wanted to stop eating half way thru but felt bad for the chef.  He seems to take alot of pride in his food and the beautiful interior of this spot.  Give it a try I guess. 

The owner chef was formerly in a rock band. Free sticker.

OKAYAMA: Boston Steak! The roasted lettuce Caesar salad was goooo! Slightly expensive steak was meh... (Sony RX100M3)

This salad was soooo goood... it arrived on a hot iron plate.  It was pretty massive too.

Stewed tomato and beef tendon 390 yen! What a deal.  So many great looking side dishes at very reasonable prices.  

Sooo flavorful tomato based sauce with tender pieces of beef.  390 yen a no brainer.

I waited nearly an hour for this 3,500 yen sliver of a Spenser roll steak. 

The meat was tender in some areas and a little fatty.

Would I pay 3,500 yen again for this... nah.  I suggest ordering all the American style side dishes would be a better bet here. So if you go just order a drink or two and enjoy those very wallet friendly dishes.  Pass on the meat. Oh... a couple next to me waited nearly 45 minutes for their 1st order so with just 1 chef this place will try your patience.

OKAYAMA: Abis Inn Okayama hotel bento style breakfast! First come first serve... was a miss on this morning. (Sony RX100)

When I travel alone I don`t care too much about the accommodations but my biggest concerns are the size of the room and age of the property.  Abis Inn Okayama had a decent sized 12sqm single room with views... I went!

Breakfast bento`s are served from 7-9am and the elevator was packed around 7am! Wow hungry folks. Many looked like they were here on business or for some type of company training. 

This is it! Hmm.... Slice of ham, egg, little bit of macaroni salad and a fish fry sitting on a bed of yakisoba.  I don`t know... It just reminded me of a 300 yen bento from Origin.

There are table and counter seats in the Lobby.

Yeah... I didn`t finish and took it back to my room.

I think I may have gone for breakfast on an off day... I`m sure they have better quality items but waking up at 7am just for a 300 yen bento its a hard sell.  BUT the hotel itself was rather nice for a business hotel with a window that opened and great air conditioner also located on the heart of Okayama`s red light district... hostess bars, massage parlors, girls bars, Filipino bars, hostess clubs.. got it all.

OKAYAMA: Family Mart for a few Chu-Hi`s! Is it just a thing in Tokyo where people drink in front of Conbini`s? Found my spot in Okayama! (Sony RX100)

Due to security reasons the restrooms are closed after 10pm.

The convini is located on a rather spacious shopping road. Not much traffic at night.

Its kinda nice to just drink on the cheap once in a while... Why spend 700 yen on a bottle beer at that Gyoza Restaurant when you can get a 500ml can of Super Chuhi for less than 200 yen. I officially name this Family Mart content corner of Okayama.
