KANAGAWA HADANO: Idumo Chuuka Chinese style shoyu ramen on the way to Lake Yamanaka! 900 yen simple ramen... friendly staff. Plus NISMO 400R! (Nikon D7100)

 

On the way to Lake Yamanaka our visiting friend turned the rental car into the parking lot of Idumo Chuka Chinese ramen spot... 

2 types of Ramen! Yokohama Ie-Kei and Idumo Chinese Soba aka Chuka-soba aka Chuka Ramen.  The Chuka seemed to be the specialty so I went for that. Price start at 900 yen but it seems a bit much for a very basic bowl.

You can customize the ramen.

Free quail eggs or rice if you register with their SNS

Here we go! Very light toppings. I got the lard topping chukasoba.  Overall it was a very basic dark broth shoyu based ramen. Noodles were thing and nicely chewy.  Nothing I will be craving anytime again.

Was so full the entire time... I can only assume there are few spots to dine in this town.

SHIINAMACHI: Nanten Standing Udon... Soooooo Famous! One niku udon please... 500 yen! (iPhone 12 mini)

 

Finally tried the famous Nanten Standing Udon that sells 2,000 bowls on udon and soba a day!

Went with the Niku (meat) topping udon!  The beef wasnt made to order but pre-made and just placed on top... a bit cold and not too tender. 

Seating along the exit of Shiinamachi exit. You will see alot of people with bowls of noodles here.

Hit the spot but next time I will get the basic 300 yen udon.  Definitely dont need the meat topping.

One chef taking care of so many customers thru the day. Much respect!

SHIBUYA: ØL by Oslo Brewing Co.- La Cabina Shibuya for 1 Steak Taco and a thimble full of 1,000 yen Craft Beer! (iPhone 12 Mini)

 

Was hanging out in Shibuya and a Youtuber Twitch Streamer Akasan suggested we go grab some Tacos at ØL by Oslo Brewing Co. /  La Cabina! Im in!

Everyone got 1 steak Taco and of course I needed a nice glass of beeru.

The Tacos! I gave 1,000 yen to one of the guys who ordered and got no change... so are these tiny tacos really 1,000 yen? Yabai!

Its was a very dry cubed steak Taco... Noooo juiciness and honestly not good. After a few bites I noticed there were a few sauces near the outdoor taco kitchen. 

My 1,000 yen thimble full of ΦL Tokyo craft beer... this was the least expensive item on the entire Craft Beer menu! DUDE! Its like 150ml of beer.  DUDE!!

Overall Boooo.... Its a very nice atmosphere mostly dominated by foreign clientele.  

Nothing in Japan can compare to those amazing LA Taco Trucks!

ZOSHIGAYA: Yamataro Onigiri Take Away Branch with one of the most amazing Hawaiian Spicy Ahi Poke rice balls in JAPAN! (iPhone 12 Mini)

I was watching one of my favorite Twitch IRL Foodie streamers Miki_Tokyo and she dined at Yamataro  Onigiri Dine In location...all the variety of rice balls looked sooo good! I had to go!

Arrived at 4:45pm... so had to wait a bit til the 5pm open. 

Friendly staff gave me a free hot tea while I waited outside. 

My absolute favorite Spicy Ahi-Poke!  One of the best in TOKYO!!

Had to customize with a larger portion of rice for plus 50 yen. Was tempted to get the double portion filling for plus 150 yen! Next time!

Lots of different ingredients line the chef counter.

Here it is! There are 2 custom orders I want to try next time... The Extra topping that goes on top of the triangle and the double ingredients that go inside the rice ball. 

The Spicy Ahi Poke was soooo amazing! If you cant make it to Ogo Ono-loa Hawaii for a proper Hawaiian plate lunch then this is a nice option for poke.

Domestic extra portion rice! I will have to ask where its sourced from but very nice.

If you are ever in Ikebukuro just take a nice stroll to Zoshigaya for some wonderful Onigiri!
