The owner suggested this Awamori... I dont really know how to describe the different types of Awamori but some are much smoother than others... some pack a punch.

OKINAWA NAHA: 88 Steak House for their Hambuger steak lunch... big ole Fail guys. Dry and tasted like an industrial burger... not home made. (Lumix TZ60)

With my favorite George Tacos being a full house I wandered into a little recycle shop attended by a old lady... we got to chatting and she recommended I try 88 Steak House for their Hamburger Steak.  OK.. Im a huge burger fan! Why now!

Lots of delicious looking steak... Nearly everyone here was ordering steak.

But I decided to try what the lady recommended... Hamburger Steak.

Comes with soup and a bowl of salad.

Here I go!  I cut into it... 

Zero juiciness and it seemed like the meat was outsourced... those frozen patties inexpensive bento spots used.  I so was so disappointed and only ate half of this 200 gram fail of a burger.

So sad to spend 1,500 yen on such a bad meal. Staff wasnt very well trained as the foreign waitress couldnt tell me what came with the burger.  She could have easily said soup, salad and rice.  On top of that I was seating in direct view of the waitresses standing at the kitchen entrance... they sure did like staring at me when they had no orders to take care of.  Overall DONT go for the burger and give the Steaks a try!

OKINAWA NAHA: Tengoku (Heaven) Parlour with a super friendly solo owner and chatty regulars... Tonjiru (Pork Miso Soup) is good! Tempura Too!! (iPhone 12 Mini)

 

Randomly popped into Tengoku Parlor for a drink and discovered a super friendly owner/chef and the regulars were interesting too.

Okinawa is famous for their fish and squid tempura and of course I had a few..

Cozy picnic type table seating outside the izakaya.  One regular really boasted on how successful he was... it got kinda old after hearing go on for an hour.

Beer and Tonjiru Pork Miso soup set 900 yen! The soup is made by the owner and they do run out! So definitely go early.

Its located in this huge shopping arcade on Kokusai Street. OH! The owner also wrote an English menu so I assume he can speak a little bit. GOGO!

OKINAWA NAHA: Fab Mart has the MOST amazing Tacos I have ever had in Japan!! Hawaiian Poke Taco WOW! (Sony RX100)

 

Whenever I goto Okinawa Im usually on the hunt for either Hawaiian Poke or Tacos and randomly spotted Fab Mart after lunch... noticed they had Poke! So a few days later I went again.

But the Hawaiian Poke wasn't available this day...

So I ordered me a Happy Hour beer and...

... the cashier said the grilled tuna was the most popular item so why not!

This taco totally reminded me of those Taco Trucks in Los Angeles (LA).  It was just sooo good with soft shell.

Included a tiny lime?

I had to get another but another chef arrived and she helped me select another taco. I mentioned I came again just to eat the Hawaiian Poke an she mentioned they have Poke Tacos!! OMG!

This was absolutely delicious!  Totally reminded me of Poke in Hawaii.

I think the fish sat on a bed of Kail veggies.  So I just at the greens alone as it was a bit too overbearing and wanted to enjoy the poke with the taco shell.

Guys!!! When in Japan please fly to Fab Mart in Okinawa for the best tacos I have ever had in this country!  I will definitely be back many many times... YUM!!
