SAITAMA HANNO: Cazu Camping Site! 9 spots for cars and solo campers can tent at the stream bed. (Sony Rx100, Fimi Palm)

Invited by a good friend who now is completely hooked on camping!  Just had to turn him down for months as I knew he would eventually buy all kinds of camping gear and I could just go with my chopsticks, metal bowl and Hydroflask mug!

CAZU is actually a lumber yard and the extra bits of wood are provided to the campers.

Remember to buy your food and drinks at the local supermarket as they only have a vending machine here.

Spots 7 (we got this), 8 and 9.  Number 9 is closest to the log cabin and toilets.

#7 right on the corner with perfect views of the bending stream!

Camping gear all set up!  Took about an hour to get this far.

I think it costs 1,000 yen to use the pizza oven.

All you can use lumber for 1,500 yen!  Assorted shapes and sizes.

Japanese love cucumbers... just add a little seasoning.

Gyoza dumplings!  Super crispy on the outside... came out great.

Tofu!

First time to try this seasoning on Tofu... had hints of garlic in it. Normally I use shoyu.

2 ducks cruising along the stream.

Hydroflask needs to make a 500ml for these taller drinks. Super popular Suntory STRONG 9% chu-hi... only around 150-200 yen a can.

Dogs are allowed!  This couple was camping in spot #1 thats away from the river but more private.

Scallops grilled with butter and shoyu.

Grilled chicken...

Friends original Ajillo... Camembert cheese in the center with mushrooms, chicken and some other stuff. Super addictive.

Photo at 8pm

Then we close with some Kimchee hotpot (nabe) with freshly made rice from a mess tin.

And the sun rises... time to get ready for breakfast.

There are 3 huge sinks to wash your bowls, brush your teeth etc.  Water comes from the stream.

There are big metal buckets to put your ash in.

The water was soooo crystal clear.

A family of 3 were fishing.  There is an option to day camp along the river from 8am to 4pm.

The president/owner of the lumber yard... he was up early in the morning to clean the 3 restrooms and restock the toilet paper.

I`m not much of an outdoor camping type but this place was great.  Perfect for families, couples and solo campers... There is a shower but only cold water so I suggest going to a nearby onsen hot springs to close out your camping adventure. OH PRICES!  Log cabin 15,000 yen per night, 5000 yen for camping site (with parking) and Solo Campers 2,300 yen.
