I never goto Shimbashi for dinner but there are sooooo many small little Japanese restaurants here and most of them super busy on this Friday evening.
Based on a friends recommendation we headed to Nankuru-Naisa
Prices are a tad higher than most.
The otoshi automatic appetizer was mozuku... healthy healthy.
Grad school buddy visiting from Taipei... known this guy for 13 years?
Goya champuru with Tulip meat... kind of Okinawa's version of SPAM.
This was yum... buta-no-kakuni. Stewed pork soooo tender and flavorful.
Think this older man was the owner... very friendly.
Time for some Okinawa Awamori sake... forgot how this Kanji is read but it was an extremely smooth awamori. Ordered a few.
To close out the night of course Taco Rice.
Good point for ladies... The restroom isnt shared! Quite unusual for older izakaya's.
Overall a very popular spot under the tracks but get ready for a neighboring smokers and prepare talk really loud... even though the rains were overhead you can only hear them from the quiet restroom.
