SANGENJAYA: Stamina Dojo Yakiniku... very very old school Yakiniku (Korean BBQ) spot run by an elderly couple.

So many of my co-workers live in Sangenjaya and there are soooo many tiny restaurants that are privately owned (non-franchise).  This night we hit up Stamina Dojo Yakiniku run by an elderly couple... the husband is the waiter and the wife prepares the meat.

This photo was when we were leaving at 9:30pm but it was pretty full when we arrived at 7pm.

When its crowded its a royal smoky mess!  Don't wear your nice clothes here... even with a table of smokers I still smelled of BBQ Smoke.

This I didn't eat... not too much of a fan offal.

Over the years the color of the walls have turned a dirty bronze color.

Ro-su beef... this was so chewy... not very tender.

Harami very very good!  Tasty and soft too.

Kalbi was another great selection.

They server raw yukke meat but the pieces were big and very chewy like the Rosu beef... not so good for me.

Overall its a very nice cozy place run by 2 friendly elderly folks.  Due to the immense smoke and little ventilation I don't think I will be back anytime soon...

EBISU: Gou Stand Wine Bistro for an absolutely fabulous Roast Beef lunch Burger!!!

After a meeting I noticed this line of about 12 people at 11:20am and asked one of the ladies why she was in line... for the roast beef!  Ok... I'm in!

You have a choice between the roast beef burger or the roast beef bowl... I have to say nearly everyone went for the Large roast beef bowl.

So many wines.

The roast beef was so delicious and sooooo super tender. There was a special sauce and also german looking mustard similar to grey poupon.

Sorry for this messy pic but there was a round slice of thick onion inside too.

This place was sooooooo good and a full house by 11:45am!  I will definitely be back!

Oh its just down the street from BLACOWS so just go here!  Oh the roast beef is limited to Lunch only.

MINAMI AOYAMA: Ippudo Ramen, Gyoza and Beer! This is unlike any other ramen spot ever... clean and restaurant style.

I frequently walk past this Ippudo located between Gaienmae and Omotesando station but decided to give it ago!

Order at your table and pay at your table... there is no money machine with buttons and you get your own waitress.  It was nice to relax and drink my beer in this atmosphere. But not to worry there are also counter seats in the back.

I went for the beer, gyoza and ramen set.

Just the right amount of ramen noodles.  You won't get full.

Mini gyoza with the yuzu spice is nice.

If you are craving ramen on a date night then this is the only spot in Tokyo I can recommend to take a girl because of the nice restaurant style interior.
