KAMI SHAKUJI: Ishizuka Shoten Sekimachi Cellar... so many wines, craft beers, sake galore. PLUS you can drink on the terrace! (Sony RX100M2)

Took a loooong walk this day from Hoya station to Kichijoji then back but on the way we decided to stop by Sekimachi Cellar liquor store for drinks.

Some of the craft beers were pricy... 1,280 yen for 500ml can of this cool looking can.  Thats about 10x more than a can of private label chu-hi.

The managers recommendation...

Beer snacks

After you buy your booze just head on over to the 2nd floor open terrace area!

Bucket of ice and water will cost you 300 yen... we needed this for the bottle of Imo jochu (potato shochu).

Coconut chips my fav.

News playing on the big screen TV.

Restroom was very clean.

Seems there were tables outside the liquor shop too...

Overall it was such a deal if you buy sake or local brews.  Our bottle was about 1,200 yen plus 300 yen for ice and water.  This bottle would normally be about 3000 yen at any izakaya.

NISHI AZABU: Liquor shop with friendly faces... getting more common now.

Friday night got lost in a maze of small side streets in Nishi Azabu then discovered a group of guys drinking in a liquor store.

Decided to have a beer just outside near the rare alcohol vending machines and one of the guys came out.  Started chatting and was invited to join the group.

Its just an old skool liquor shop... but more and more you will see liquor shops with counters so you can drink there and eat some small snacks.

They had my favorite Aka-Kirishima (deep red shiny label).

Was asking Sho-san what mini-nihonshu bottle was recommended... he pulled me outside and bought a cup of sake for me.  Cool guy.

A few stray cats in the area.

I guess its always about learning the language and keeping a smile... never had a bad experience when mingling with strangers here.  Sorry, I don't remember the name of the liquor shop or exact location.

OOIZUMIGAKUEN: SanYou Sake Ten.... mom and pop liquor shop with a little devil dog.

Walking from Shakujikoen all the way to Oizumigakuen is a trek... only one station away but the roads sure twisty./   Anyways ran across this little mom and pop liquor shop with a rare alcohol vending machine outside.

We picked up some 200 yen 500ml chu-hi's

And then there is this insane crazy dog that was going bonkers... he looked so weird.  This lady seemed to be a regular here and she said he always barks nutty.

So if you wanna visit this madness of a tiny chihuahua you gotta go here.  The old lady owner was so kind too.

Yeah. public drinking is ok here in Japan.
