KOTAKEMUKAIHARA: I am lottery winner! AnRakuTei for some free Bibimbap... lucky me.

Well... maybe I'm not too special but won 1 of 15,000 free bibimbaps for Anrakutei's "Kirameki" Lottery.

BUT! There was a catch in the fine print... I had to order 1 item off the menu.  Kimchee was 380yen... Drink Buffet (Sodas) was 280yen... and wait... Belgium Chocolate Ice Cream 210yen!

Regular price for my Ishiyaki (Hot Stone) Bibimbap was 819yen... sweet.

Free water!

Special sauces.

My Bibimbap came with seaweed soup too... sweet.

Nice hot metal not stone bowl... food came out sizzling.  Overall everything taste better free but would I order this at this restaurant for regular price? Nah... it just wasn't that special.   I'd hit up a Korean spot in Akasaka for this vs a franchise yakiniku restaurant.

Later came some free hot tea and free pineapple... plus my 210yen choco ice cream with chunks of chocolate!

They gave me a 1,000yen coupon that can be applied to a 5,000yen+ bill and a piece of candy.  Oh, I arrived at 9:15 on a Thursday night and the place was deserted except for one couple.

EKODA: Teppan-Yaki ORELA... perfect service, casual atmosphere and fun food!

Its been about 3 years since my last venture into a Monja-Okonomiyaki spot and with the help of Groupon I scored for 2,500yen (all you can eat and drink) for 50% off... 1,250yen each for 2hours!

Looks like they were having a 1st drink free during Golden Week.

One large table at the entrance.

Long counter seating with views of the bartenders and chef at work.

Pre-made Okonomiyaki arrived before we ordered... a great starter.

And here it is!  Our all you can drink and eat menu.  The food mainly focused on the Monja but a fun selection of baby-star, pork kimchee, curry with mini hotdogs, mentaiko-cheese, negi-shoga with tiny shrimps and potage.  Its just fun food.

Mentaiko-Cheese...

The cooking style is a bit different than Okonomiyaki so the waiter immediately noticed we were a bit lost and got things started.  Service was just spot on great!

Counter seating...

Baby-Star okonomiyaki...

Meet Jun (guy in black) bartender and master chef... perfect service and super friendly.

Dessert... Crepe with chocolate and azuki beans.

Meet the head chef who was cooking in along the counter... another great guy.

Overall this place is easily 5 stars. Its just a great thing when you can cook your food and everything is hot hot... I'll definitely be back!

SHIBUYA: Toritake REVISITED! Chunky Yakitori with a local crowd... friendly friendly.

Can't believe its been nearly 3.5yrs since my last visit to Toritake... but after a long day at the Cinco De Mayo festival in Yoyogi-Koen we headed down to Shibuya for some Yakitori.

The automatic Otoshi appetizer... seasoned veggies.

1st floor had a combination of counter seating and seats but all full so headed up to the 2nd floor.

The yakitori was soooo chunky and flavorful.  Good stuff.

Of course Sake~

2nd Floor very busy busy... and I guess there is a bit of counter seating for 4.

Going from the 2nd floor to 1st...

1st Floor diners.

And looks like there's standing area outside with yellow beer bottle cases.  You'll have a great view of the Yakitori chefs from this spot too but it can get very smokey as its near the vents.

Overall its just a great place to enjoy Yakitori in a very Japanese environment... nice mix of people from all age groups and just a few minutes walk from Shibuya Station.  Was great to be back again.
