NISHI OGIKUBO: Hainan Chicken Rice Mu-Hung the best ever!! Much Juicier than Hainan Jifan Shokudo! GO GO!! (Pixel 7 Pro)

I've walked by Hainan Chicken Rice Mu-Hung a few times and always notice a nice steady crowd of diners that included families, elderly, students... a very nice mixed crowd.

So! I had to gooo! Chicken rice starts from 870 yen for a small portion.

Nice cozy wooded interior

You can select the portion of chicken in grams.

It was so shiny! So juicy!

3 different sauces.

The chicken was soooo juicy! I have mostly given up on Hainan Chicken Rice in Tokyo because the places I usually visit are such a hit and miss. This place is definitely my FAVORITE in TOKYO!!

Let me list my Chicken Rice Spots in Tokyo.

HARAJUKU: 14 years later I am back at this Kyushu Jangara Ramen! Heavy tourist clientele and well its was still meh. (iPhone 12 mini)

I was at Tokyo Night Market with a friend who always craves ramen before heading home and I had noooo idea where to do in Harajuku.  Its definitely not a ramen town... think rents are too high.

The prices have gone up by 1.5x! I got the least expensive bowl for 890 yen... previously this was only 600 yen.

Very very big L-shaped counter seating with views of the chef.

My friend ordered the creamy bonshan tonkotsu ramen
クリーミー豚骨 ぼんしゃん

This is it! My poverty 九州じゃんがら マイルド豚骨 tonkotsu ramen selection... there were much higher price point bowls.

The noodles reminded me of angel hair pasta but it got so clumpy...Instead of slurping nice mouth fulls you were basically chomping on a round mound of noodles.

Added a bit of sesame flakes.

Of course I had to drink all the soup.  Always curious what it says on the bottom of the bowl.

Overall the soup lacked any depth or punch... it just needed a bit more of that stinky flavorful Kyushu broth. I think they adjusted it for the heavy tourist crowd. If you dont know ramen then this place might be a nice spot to visit but overall its such a boring bowl of noodles.  For 800 yen I could have got a pizza and hamburger steak plate at Saizeriya.
