Its hard to find a decent Okinawan restaurant in central Tokyo but Hana Bana was nicely ranked in Tabelog so had to give it a try.
6pm reservations with only a few people at the counter but by 7pm it was full of house wives.
First off Umibudo (ocean grapes). Always a must..
Automatic appetizer
Mozuku Tempura... you can buy a huge bag of this at the supermarket for like 300 yen but they provided 4 small pieces... very oily here.
Papaya champuru with spam.
The best item with a decent portions was the kakuni seasoned pork.
As a parting gift they give you some pineapple chinsuko cookies. Overall it was rather expensive for the tiny portions even for Japan standards. If you are craving Okinawan food head over to Okinawa Paradise in Shinjuku with a live nightly performance and better food.... Won't be back here.
