In the mood for sushi and remembered there was a small Sushi spot in Ebisu.
Walked in to a stern looking sushi chef duo...hmm... maybe I shouldn't enter.
Was seated on the far end and with no smiles from the chef I ordered just a few pieces as I didn't feel to welcome here.
The zukemaguro (seasoned tuna) was thick and texture so fresh.
Squid with a dash of pepper.
The guy next to me ordered a sake and I started to chat him up. Seems its a very premium nihonshu from Niigata prefecture... or was it Hokkaido.
This was absolutely fantastic. Sushi topped by Uni and ama-ebi (sweet shrimp). Wow... I am not a fan of umi but this was sooooo creamy sweet.
And so the guy next to me who was dining with his mom offered some of the premium sake.
You will always meet friendly folks in these tiny sushi shops in Japan.
The gold label was what we were drinking.
So as the second bottle of sake arrived we became good drinking buddies,
Guy was born and raised in Ebisu... don't meet many folks like that here in diverse Tokyo.
By the end of the night the scary sushi chefs were smiling and it was just an overall nice place. If you are in Ebisu you should go! There are no English menu's but there is a friendly hall waiter from Nepal who works here... just ask him for some help.
And now for some car spotting in the area. Porsche GT3 RS, 458 Ferrari Speciale, Mercedes Benz SL65 Black Series
And a stunning Lamborghini Aventador with red accents. This was a beauty.
