Looked at the foodie rankings for a popular bakery in Azabu Juban and hit on St. Moritz サンモリッツ名花堂... friend mentioned it was a very old style nostalgic Japanese bakery.
In posh rent expensive prime Azabu Juban this place seems to be doing very well... I think the operators probably own the land and bldg.
American Cookies! 105yen each... tempted... very tempted...
Breads and pastries.
Different kinds of sandwiches...
So I ended up with one chicken sandwich with ketchup and mayo... another shop that uses rubber chicken's! The three nuggets were all so rubbery.
Curry Corokke sandwich :). Hmm.... hmmm.....
Overall I think its nostalgia and friendly grandmother duo staff that keeps the regulars coming. But I don't think I'll be back for the sandwiches but perhaps the pastires... time to explore other bakeries in the neighborhood. And of course you will always spot exotic cars here. Ferrari 458 at the gas station getting a wash and also spotted a white Lamborghini Murcielago.
