OSAKA UMEDA: Kaki (Oyster) & Wine Tachigui Sushimaru! OMG! Amazingly delicious sushi! OMG!! (Sony RX100M2)

Randomly passed by and just had to check Sushimaru out!

Oyster (Kaki) toppings... tabasco, whisky, tomato sauce, wasabi sauce and lemon.

Wine! Too much of a newbie to order wine. 

Limited items.  400 yen, unsure what the 500 yen is and 600 yen BOWMORE Whisky Hi-Ball.

Generous portion of free gari.  Eat this between sushi to clean your palette. 

200 yen for this Maguro! It was absolutely delicious! The freshness and texture...OMG!  I have never been to an inexpensive sushi spot that serves such a high quality of Tuna. 

One of my standard orders... Ama Ebi (Sweet Shrimp).  Has a bit of a creamy texture... one of my favs.

Next up Chu-toro!  Place this in the Tupperware.

400 yen Chu-Toro!  On Holiday but had to splurge... I mean 400 yen is kinda splurging.  Grilled a bit by a gas torche and soooo incredibly buttery tender.  WOW!

Next up Aburi-Zukushi... Torched Collection of Chu-Toro, Salmon and Scallops!

Some of the chips only have prices written on them... place this in the Tupperware.  When the sushi chef or waitress spots it they will ask what you want to order 

OMG! Torched to perfection... ever bite was so memorable.  Loving this Foodie city Osaka.

Imo (Potato) Jochu on the rocks... has a bit of a bite but think this beats out Nihonshu for most salarymen.

When in Osaka I can`t recommend this amazing sushi spot enough! It was just such an amazing foodie experience on a budget.  Osaka is famed to be a city of foodies and you will probably never have an negative foodie experience.  GO GO GO!! Oh its located in the under ground subway alley ways.

HIGASHI NAKANO: Yakiton Teruteru... Cozy counter seating with unhappy staff and watery motsu-nikomi (Sony RX100)

Its Golden Week in Japan! 10 days off for most everyone!  So I had to explore a rather busy Yakiton spot in Higashi Nakanno. 

This looks like their lunch set menu. 

Yakiton menu. Yaki is grill and Ton is pork. Most are familiar with Yakitori (Tori is Chicken).

Drink Menu.

Very unusual to see such a huge bottle of Red Star Sapporo Beer!  Usually its one step smaller.

Anyways I sat down directly in front of 2 chefs that looked like zombies... nobody was happy here. Waited over 5 minutes to see if they would ask me what I`d like to order... nope.  Not very customer friendly. 

Huge fan of Motsu-Nikomi and its the house specialty here! 

Quite the volume for 450 yen (100 yen extra for additional boiled egg).

After one bite this was sooo watery and incredibly flavorless.  Wow... never had it this bad. 

Lots of great Japanese oldies on the BGM.

OK! Took the risk to order the Omakase 3 piece set for 291 yen

Yup! I knew it! The sauce was sooo tasty! But as for these parts there are very rubbery... kind of like chewing a piece of rubber so you either have to swallow it or just keep on chomping. 

Seasonings.

As I paid the waiter gave me a little plastic bag with this note.  It reads "Thank you very much for coming to our shop. Hope you have an enjoyable time here. We would be so happy if you could use our home made carrot dressing. From Yakiton TeruTeru Higashi Nakano branch.. smiley face." What the first and only smile is this!

How many drops of carrot juice is this?  Gonna have to buy a super tiny salad.

Overall its a cozy restaurant that seems to have a great variety of izakaya foods but the unhappy staff made the experience rather bleak.  Maybe a great place to go with friends or on a date if you don`t mind the staff.
