YOTSUYA: Komori Ramen... cold char-siu and extra al'dente noodles!

I've wandered in here once before after a night out but didn't learn my lesson!

The cash menu ticket dispenser is outside.

Went for the Miso-Ramen with boiled egg

After your done just place the ramen bowl on the counter and your used tissues into the entrance garbage bin.

Ramen chef was very very young... first time to see a guy in his very early 20's making ramen.

And there it is... 4 nice slices of char-sui!

Noodles were unusually very al'dente... almost like he didn't boil it long enough.  You can normally order the noodles as "kata-men" (al'dente "Hard-Noodles") if you prefer but perhaps its the way this shop makes its noodles? Hmm...

All for pieces of Char-sui were ice cold... not very good.

I entered in with the last crowd before the shop closed.  There are very few Ramen choices in Yotsuya but I just can't recommend this place even for free... cup noodle would have been a more satisfying choice.

AKASAKA/TAMEIKE-SANNO: AUTHENTIC... no budget lunch specials but you won't be disappointed.

Finally gave nicely ranked Authentic Burger a try!  The attraction was all the foodie pics of their home made original Broccoli Cheese Burger~...

Its a bit hidden away but with a map you'll have no problem.

Prices were a bit higher than most burger lunch menu's in Tokyo...

Counter seating that faces the chef at work if you decide... might be a more interesting view.

And there it is...  Was torn between the chili-cheese burger but waiter suggested the shop original Broccoli Cheese Burger.

Overall a very satisfying burger... broccoli nicely boiled and patty very juicy.

Lunch drinks are +200yen.

Lunch burger with a drink was 1,.470yen... there are definitely alot of other choices for perhaps less than this in Tokyo.  Check out the Tokyo Hamburger ranking HERE.   Don't think I'll be back when I could get an amazing burger at The Great Burger in Harajuku for much less~.

SHOP: AUTHENTIC
Location: Near Akasaka or Tameike-Sanno Stations.

Kojimachi 31 MT Bldg Lot: GRILL TOKYO Lunch Wagon for some Grilled Chicken~.

2 nice ladies run the shop

Don't let the Beef Over Rice fool ya... in Japanese its actually Roast Beef or the Chicken Over Rice is actually Grilled Chicken... think they should change that, the Japanese description sounds better!

Lunch wagon's weekly location guide

Great chunky slice of Grilled Chicken... ran out of salad so tossed in a few extra tomatoes.

Nice herby seasoned white rice.

For 650yen you can't go wrong... a satisfying hot chicken lunch bento.

AKASAKA: En Curry Shop... enough spice and kindness to make things at ease.

Highly ranked with great reviews... had to give this friendly curry shop a try.

Arrived at 1:30pm and missed the lunch rush... only counter seating.

Pictures of all the items on the menu except for the daily special written on top.  Seem's everyone on the foodie website recommends the Gyu-Suji-Nikomi-Curry Rice...

900yen Curry lunch set comes with a cup of seaweed miso soup and small salad with a hint of spicy salad dressing...

And there it is... fairly spicy curry with very tender pieces of beef.

Some classic old school Japanese tunes on the BGM...

Very friendly staff and a nice afternoon lunch... it won't stuff you but the atmosphere and service was great.

And... if you are in the Akasaka area and a fan of exotic cars I'd recommend checking out BINGO Sports for a view of the Bugatti Veyron.

SHINJUKU SAN-CHOME: Bistro Gomaya for 1,000yen 2hr drinks!

There are few places that I've found in Tokyo that will let you do an all-you-can-drink for a fixed amount without having to go for a set menu course.  But my random search in Shinjuku for an inexpensive spot led me to Bistro Gomaya!

And there it was... 2hrs of drinks for only 1,000yen and you can order Ala'Carte too~.  No fixed meal plan that normally accompanies All-You-Can-Drink or in Japanese "Nomihoudai."

Most of the menu is in Japanese... but I'd suggest stepping outside to look at all the pics...

Food pictures at the entrance of the shop~... very helpful!

Friend Terry tried out the Goma (Sesame Seed) Shochu with Hoppy...

Fried chicken with Goma seasoning... hmm...

Nice Avocado Tuna tartar with Goma sauce... tasty!

For kinds of Potatoes... As you can see we really weren't there for the food... just drinks and catching up.

You'll definitely have to try the Goma-Shochu... very smooth!

Even included  real mid-size bottled beer in the 1,000yen drink menu... not the inexpensive Happoshu.

Interior was very clean and comfortable... there is a little buzzer in the booths to call on waiters.

Interesting umbrella stand...

Well worth the trip in a city where draft beer can go for 1,000yen.  If you are in Shinjuku and on a budget you'll have to give this place a try.

Oh!  Most important... for the 1,000yen 2hr drink special you have to enter the restaurant by 6:30pm... then you are good for the 2hrs!  Last call will usually come around the 1.5hr mark if the waiters are not too busy to notice...
