KICHIJOJI HARMONICA YOKOCHO: Chang Curry bar without the Curry! Missed my last train... choo choo. (Sony RX100)

I make it a point not to miss my last train in Tokyo... but occasionally I hang out with heavy drinkers who dont want to go home.  Thus I am at Chang Curry bar. 

2am Kanpai... grrrr

Was so craving curry but all sold out at this time of night.

Cozy L shaped counter seating.  There were 4 ladies drinking when we arrived.

Bartender Chef all smiles... friend bought a round for everyone here so its drink friendly.

Located in the alley ways of Harmonica Yokocho.  Its pretty much a random bar that caters to a very very late night clientele.  Will I be back? Hmmm... maybe for the curry.

NAKANO: Fujisoba for their least expensive dish I think... 240 yen mini curry! (SONY RX100)

Just wanted something to old me over and gave the240 yen mini curry a try!

All push button so might have to brush up on your Japanese... but there are some plastic food items in the outside display.

All self serve at Fujisoba. Take your ticket to the counter and the food is prepared.

OMG... this curry is so lack luster.   The flavor was mild and had a few bits of potatoes.  I would have to say this might be an alternative to McD's.

Hmmm... Think I will stick to Coco Curry for my budget curry rice needs.

EBISU: Pile Cafe for a very lackluster bowl of curry with overly loud clubby BGM and smokers alert!

Lunch meeting and client suggested we check out Pile Cafe.  Daily lunch special was either the basil cream pasta or spicy seafood curry.  3 currys please!

The meal includes a small cup of soup, salad with rice noodles, main dish and a drink.

A few bites of the curry with what seemed to be pieces of squarely cut squid was so boring... there was no depth to this dish.  WOW... Japanese do curry so right but this was all wrong.  But looking into the kitchen it seemed to have been staffed by a very young guy... university student?

Interior is full concrete with no covering.

What almost seemed like club music was blasting thru the lunch and exactly at 1pm 4-5 people started smoking in a mad dash.  Definitely don't go after 1pm.

Overall this restaurant is dark at lunch and the food just too mediocre to even go for free.

Probably a great place to go at night for a drink as they have bug comfy leather sofa's but definitely don't bother with lunch.

HIROO: Coco Ichiban Curry... buried in the back of the menu in small print are the half size deals!

Coco Curry has amazing picture menus but...

... did you know in the back in very fine print there are half size options with a drink included for about 500yen?  I always get the half filet katsu curry. Then unusually the waitress asked me how spicy I wanted the curry to be... so went with level 3.

This level 3 curry was soooooo spicy! Be careful when you select the levels.

Overall this Coco Curry is soooo clean and very nice inside.

A definite must if you crave a bit of Japanese curry.
