OKINAWA NAHA: Sen-Nichi Okinawan zenzai shave ice! Quite the volume and normally a full house... minus Coronavirus (Sony RX100, a57)

Walked past Sen-Nichi last summer and it was a full house... skipped it due to coronavirus social distancing worries.  BUT I was back for the Christmas holidays only to find it empty at 3pm

They also serve Okinawa Soba noodles

Taiyaki if you like!  Sweet azuki bean filled pancakes in the shape of a fish.

In this photo it looks rather normal but that glass bowl was big and so filled with sweet azuki beans.

Noticed 2 types of beans... very sweet. 

Overall its a great Okinawan treat for the summer and you can rarely find this in Tokyo.  But honestly think my favorite is still Ryugu inside the Kokusai Street shopping alley.

OKINAWA NAHA: Ryugu for their fluffy zenzai (shave ice)! Luckily to have randomely popped in! (Sony RX100)

I`ve walked by this spot several times this year and finally was in the mood to give their Okinawa zenzai (shave ice) a try!  I`m a huge fan of Fujiya but time to give others a try!

Boom!  The ice was sooooo incredibly fluffy... if it was any lighter it might just fly away like feathers.

What I found unique is they use 3 types of beans rather than only azuki beans used by nearly all zenzai shops.  The different textures were just delicious.  

Overall the price point is about 100 yen higher than competitors but the place is fairly new and so spacious.  Definitely a great place to have a drink or dessert and take a rest.  Plus the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly.  GO GO!!

OKINAWA NAHA TOMARI: Fujiya Main Branch for a great Okinawan zenzai shave ice in a Hydro Flask cup! (Sony RX100)

I was watching local Okinawan TV and my favorite foodie show was randomly on!  They introduced Fujiya shave ice spot but what most caught my attention was the Hydro Flask Rocks cup they used for the ice... I had to go!!

This is all me!  

All shave ice 50% off for pregnant ladies. 

420 yen!  There were so many options but I had to go for the traditional Okinawan Zenzai ice. 

Collab Fujiya x Hydroflask bottles!  Tempted but instead....

I bought a few 120 yen stickers for my bottles!  Noticed the paint fading on the HF Rocks cup they used to serve the ice.  Guess you can`t wash them too many times.

I really enjoy this... think the beans are stewed in brown sugar.  YUM!

Includes a lightly salted cracker... crunchy

You can add extra little mochi balls called Shira-Tama.. 2 for 10 yen.

Yeah... Okinawa is so hot so I had to go back again.

Out with the old Mountain Smith sticker and in with the new 120 yen FUJIYA sticker.

Another for my Hydro Flask Cooler cup!   

Overall this place has a great relaxing interior, attentive staff and shave ice is so perfect on a hot day.  They also serve Tacos, Taco Rice etc. if you want a bit of lunch too.
