HARAJUKU: Calbee Plus for my absolute favorite Royce Chocolate covered POTATO CHIPS with a hint of Okinawa!!

Walking up Harajuku's Takeshita-Dori (street) and noticed Calbee+... another shop that was featured on TV because they make fresh potato chips in the shop.

Noticed chocolate covered shrimp snacks... soooo tempted! Picked it up... looked at it...

Then noticed my soooo super favorite Chocolate covered Potato chips by ROYCE (a Hokkaido chocolates company)... no hesitation! 

Service freshly fried potato chips in the back...

I normally get the item on the left but they have Royce with salt from Ishigaki-jima (Island), Okinawa!  I'll always support the islands wherever I go.

Absolutely delicious... the chocolate just melts in your hand after a few moments.  Soooo good!

Now I no longer have to travel to the prefectural Hokkaido shops for my ROYCE chocolates... good to know. If you are in the area don't forget to buy some choco-chips!!

HARAJUKU: Harajuku Gyoza Lou... 290yen simple Gyoza's for lunch with a hint of Aventador!

Was in the Omotesando area for my haircut and randomly walked by this Harajuku Gyoza that is occasionally featured on Japanese foodie shows... its was a full house with a nice mix of young fashionable folks, salary-men and foreigners (word of mouth?).

"U" shaped counter seating...

I'd suggest sitting in the back area to get a glimpse of the gyoza chef at work.

Menu in English... easy easy... Gyoza's for 290 yen (Fried or boiled) and don't forget to go for the 180yen white rice with a bowl of chicken soup!

Mix all three together... red is spicy so FYI.

The 180yen bean sprouts with special meat was featured on TV... tasty seasoned ground beef?

It only took me about 1 minute to walk to the main road and of course I spot an exotic in posh Omotesando... Lamborghini Aventador... first time to see an Orange in Tokyo.

Overall Harajuku Gyoza Lou is just simple and easy... I'd equate it to McDonalds... nothing impressive but does the job to hold you over until your next meal.  Might be a fun spot to take your friends after an evening of beers...

HARAJUKU/OMOTESANDO: The Great Burger California House... cozy atmosphere and friendly staff.

I'm a big big fan of The Great Burger's Chili Burger but never visited their Sister shop California House until today... was a nice cool day so the outdoor seating pulled me in.

...but I was seated at the counter facing the Burger Chef... we were literally facing each other within hang shake distance.  This shop is very very cozy in terms of space.  Looks like they have Monthly Burgers.

Lunch comes with a drink of your choice, fries or salad (can ask for Oomori - extra size) and a burger.

There it was.  The waitress recognized me from my frequent visits to The Great Burger and started to chat me up a bit... then the chef Fumi-san joined in.  Its a very small narrow shop and so much more friendly and relaxing vs the other. 

Veeeery juicy beef and of course one of Tokyo's best chili's.

Went for the Oomori french fries for free

I was alone this day thus the counter seating but if you want a view of the chef at work then it sure is a great spot to watch all the action vs keeping busy on the iPhone.
