ASAGAYA: Hawaii's Own Coffee Co (HOCC) revisited for Chili Rice!

When HOCC was tweeting they had their home made chili for 2 days during the Asagaya Jazz Festival I had to go!  Love their tuna and chicken sandwiches but for hard to find Chili in Tokyo I will go anywhere.

Kenta and his staff filling a Chili order.  Most of their staff have some connection to Hawaii and speak English...

Chili Bowl starts at 500yen with toppings at a minimal fee.

There it is... Chili with extra rice and cheese/onion topping... Spiciness was just right, no need to search for Tabasco.  Overall a great Chili flavor.

My mango Smoothie with hints of fresh Pineapple.

Kenta's Uncle was out and about helping during the busy 2-day Asagaya Jazz Streets annual Festival.

Special spam musubi with a layer of egg... home made.

ASAGAYA: Aonisai Bar... your local Cheers! Friendly folks all around...

Childhood friend Scott kept inviting me to check out Aonisai in Asagaya for about a year or so... well, I finally made it!

We sat at the tables near the open entrance... further back there is a private tatami space for about 4-5 people... the A/C was kickin in back there.  Nice spot for a little gathering.

Menu was very reasonable... lots of appetizers that went well with beer.
Salad with slightly grilled beef...

Thick pieces of bread with Chili and Tomato topping.

Wine bottles were all 2,500yen.

Nachos with Chili Cheese dip.

Cheese Rice Corokke.

The owner of Aonisai... very friendly person... yeah, those shots were for our table.  When you get Scott and Terry together (both Tequila lovers) then my nights end up in a blur... phew.

And so the shots arrived...

Kanpai... But tonights gathering was to welcome back Scott from a few months haitus from Tokyo.  If you have some Aloha in ya then check out the Hawaii's Own Coffee Company that he founded.

I occasionally see items like this in the restroom but never to this extent... lots of attention to customer service and detail.

There is a nice bar counter if you wander in alone... 2nd floor has sofa seating with Jazzy music.  I'd definitely recommend this spot for a few beers with friends.

ASAGAYA: Hawaii's Own Revisited... Scott departs but you'll still find a little bit of Aloha here.

Went to visit owner Kenta at Hawaii's Own Coffee Company in Asagaya... management transition seems to be going smoothly after founder Scott's return to the Airline industry.

There are 3 shakes to choose from... this was the Mocha with a shot of espresso... very flavorful.

Kenta started selling Hawaiian eco-bags.  I'd have to go for the Foodland Spam Musubi.

Brownie selections...

Keiko's tweeting the just baked brownies...

One for me... 240yen.
