OKINAWA NAHA: Nakazaya Okinawa soba with flavorful tonkotsu soup! Pork was soooo incredibly tender! My fav Soba spot on the island! (Lumix TZ60)

When in Okinawa I always go a bit out of the way to my favorite Okinawa soba shop Nakazaya! 

Nearly all Okinawa soba spots use fish broth but Nakazaya uses a white pork tonkotsu soup base. So you really get to enjoy the flavorful soup, tender pork and texture of the noodles.  So GOOD!

I usually order a small size soba and

Free ice cold Okinawan tea.

When in Okinawa you must try the Yushi Tofu soup! Always get a bowl of both Okinawa soba and Tofu soup

Look at that pork... its so buttery tender and chef torches it before serving.

Free red raddish topping.. the flavor can be overwhelming so I suggest adding a bit toward the end of the meal or not at all.  Kinda kills the flavor of the soup.

Its not a very solid tofu but kinda soft and very easy to eat.

The Yushi Tofu Menu... just go for the Small Size 300 yen. If you want the Jushii (Okinawan chilled seasoned rice, kinda like fried rice) and Tofu set its 550 yen.

The staff seemed to be from several Asian countries... I'm sure some are bilingual if you need some help.

If you need a part time job its 900-1,125 yen per hour here!  

There is a notice to customers in Japanese.  Many items are no longer available on the counter but you can request them: Garlic, pepper, gyoza sauce, toothpicks and tissue.  I totally didn't read this when I was there.

This was totally Fukuoka Style Hakata Ramen... very similar to Ichiran Ramen.  Japan has a huge variety of Ramen but anything from Fukuoka pretty much tastes the same.  Its like having Chicago Pizza in Chicago, Los Angles or New York... all the same.

NAKAMURABASHI: Red Angel Asian Sports Bar... very spacious occupying the 1st floor of a home. (Sony RX100M2)

In a very residential area sits this lone little bar that I recently discovered. Red Angel Asian sports bar on a Friday night!

Least expensive item is the corona for 650 yen.

Peanuts included in the 300 yen table charge... unusual to see this fee at a bar. 

Darts!  

They seem to stream local sports here.

One of the 2 outdoor seating areas. 

When I entered there was one older lady there but when she left the entire bar was just me.  Thought that it would be busy at 10pm on a Friday night but the bartender said its usually dead BUT Saturdays have a better local crowd/  Definitely a great date spot or drinks with the boys.
