Good friend came back from Davos then Germany then somewhere else... It had been a while since we hit up Roppongi so went to Havana Cafe for 1 happy hour drink then decided to wander until we found something new. Sooooo glad we spotted this fairly new March 2018 open Izakaya.
Nice mix of all kinds of age ranges and with a few foreigners at the counter.
But along with being a super fan of gyoza (pot stickers) I am a suuuper fan of huge drinks at a great value and this Dodeka (super massive) whiskey hi-ball was spot on my style. I have NEVER seen such a huge glass for only 580 yen. Normally these go for 1,000 - 1,200 yen.
This was the automatic appetizer called Otoshi in Japanese. Has little bits of Konbu or seasoned seaweed I think... free refills! Wow I have never seen a restaurant in Japan that serves free Otoshi refills.
Sauces for gyoza but then thre was one little glass bottle with yellow pills!
OMG! Free Ukon! This is turmeric that helps the liver and hangovers.
Seasoned boiled quail eggs.
Cucumbers with umeboshi sauce.
Famous folks left a few signatures.
The gyoza took about 45 minutes to arrive... guess they had a big influx of orders.
If you are a lone diner or want a view of the chef in action definitely hit up the counter seat!

Counter seating had these red seats but the other tables used yellow bottle beer cases with a little flat cushion... probably to assist in customer turnover. But the waitress said our limit was 2 hours.
Free Kitkat service to close out the dinner.
They also have an app... think I may have gotten a discount by downloading this but after 3 of their 580 Dekka-Hiballs I can't quite remember.
When in Roppongi this place is a must! I will definitely be back their huge drinks, super variety food menu but most of all the staff was sooooo attentive. GO GO GO! Its just a few seconds from Hard Rock Cafe.
