Checked out one of my friends favorite restaurants near Aoyama University.
A mix of traditional Okinawan dishes and Chinese dishes.
Of course I always get the Okinawan Rafute pork ribs... super tender and well seasoned.
Chinese mabo tofu with a very distinct spice.
Goya Champuru... Goya slices that were tender and not bitter plus spam!
Drink menu.
Walls lined with wines and prices written on them.
Asked the owner to suggest a bottle that would match our dinner and out came this huge bottle with a what looked like a beer cap. Very bubbly sweet white wine.
I am so not a wine guy... and normally just grab the bottle anywhere to pour.
Rayu chili oil for the mabo tofu.
It was a full house on a Friday and reservations is a must. If you walk in you might get lucky to get a spot at the standing counter and if a table opens up they will sit you.
