Wandering the semi-red light district of Ikebukuro during lunch in search of a spot... peeked inside Agalico Shokudo and it was a full house! Nearly all women!

I love Singapore Chicken Rice so had to go for the Khao Man Gai 888 yen! Luck 8!

For Lunch you can choose S, M, L or Extra Large rice portion for free.

Here is my Khao Man Gai on a bed of Jasmine rice.

Honestly it just hit the spot... parts of the rice were a bit hard but I just put it into my soup.

The slightly sweet sauce that came with the dish.  Overall the lunch was just ok... Id probably recommend one of the combo meals with Thai curry. Anyways the interior was totally like a little Thai outdoor food stand. Kinda cool. Only 1 chef and 1 waitress so be a little patient.

SAKURADAI: Hyotan Thai Lunch! Khao Man Gai was a bit dry and store a bit claustrophobic. (SONY RX100)

Lunch 880 yen price point is generous due to all the extras.

You can select tofu soup or tom yam kun soup.

Of course khao man gai lunch set for me!

Hmm... the chicken was a bit dry and the rice wasn't seasoned... just plain Japanese rice. 

I think the turnover here is alot less than their Ekoda branch.

There are 3 tables that seat 4 people and counter seating for 5.  Not sure why but felt a bit claustrophobic in this restaurant. It just wasn't very relaxing. 

My advice skip this Thai restaurant and walk a few yards to the fabulous Jiro Ramen!

NAKAMURABASHI: Lapooh Thai for a reasonable 780 yen lunch in the burbs. (Canon s120)

A new Thai restaurant opened up in Nakamurabashi!  

Price point was very reasonable at 780 yen. 

Rather spacious interior. 

Khao Man Gai is all me.... how does it compare to Hyotan Thai Restaurant in Ekoda?

Lunch includes spring roll.

Thai programs on the large TV but they had Thai music on the BGM.

Wonderful Thai tea... it was so mellow. 

Here it is!  First impression... there wasn't so much chicken on the rice and rather dry.

Really liked this dipping sauce... sweet and spicy.

Rice had little bits of fried onion or garlic... tasty.

Overall the volume was just right but for an additional 70 yen you can have an amazing value at one of the Hyotan Thai restaurants.  But the chef and waitress were friendly.
