SHIINAMACHI: Kameya Kushiyaki... very old school Kushiyaki spot with discolored walls and all.

Met up with an old timer who retired his little pub a year... now living in a town with some cool little restaurants. The last time a friend and I joined him here for reasonable sushi:

The chef pictured here worked at a popular yakitori spot in Ikebukuro and opened up his own place.

Bottled beers 480 yen and the automatic salad appetizer (otoshi).

Really enjoyed the bacon wrapped veggies...

Spicy miso for the kushiyaki

Long counter seating for regulars.

Of course had to get garlic... so soft.

The Store Motto in this sign "Eat and drink, then eat again and drink again until your belly is super full."

I think you have to hang out with old timers sometimes... a good guy.

Back in the day when Master invited us to sake tasting Ikebukuro

Master and his wife at his old little bar.

Drinks, Karaoke and too many drinks and more Karaoke.
Back in the day... 2013 or 2014 I think.

AKIHABARA: Shimon-ya Akihabara... cheap friendly cozy Yakitori spot!

Scanning Akihabara for a highly ranked Izakaya and cam across this Yakitor Yakiton spot.

Walked thru the main room and it was packed... nice mix of customers.  But because it was full they led me into a small back room with 3 tables.

But just my luck... nobody was smoking and...

I got to watch Japan destroy the Netherlands 16-4... backroom suddenly got packed with quite a few people cheering on the home team.

Large selection of 100yen items!

Overall the service was great and the food wasn't too bad.  Two younger guys that sat next to me said no matter how much they ate it would only come out to 3,000yen... not too bad.  Highly suggest it if you like mingling with a very Japanese beer and yakitori loving crowd.

SUIDOBASHI: Anbai... a standard franchise Izakaya after Football Championships!

Japan X Bowl Championships! I went with a group of Kajima Deer supporters but of course in my heart I was supporting my former CLSA Sales Trader colleague Frank the Tank of the Obic Seagulls!

After a great game full of turnovers and interceptions OBIC continues their 3rd year winning streak

Then off to franchise Izakaya Anbai... very similar to Watami.

How to share Yakitori sticks

Food is simply alright at best but in Japan its all about Nomunication... relaxing and enjoying everyone's company no matter what the setting or how mediocre the food was~.

Met people from Fujitsu, Kajima, Resona, Taisei and Marubeni this night.

Two KAJIMA Deers Cheerleaders stopped by!

But when you drink with older guys be aware... girls usually don't pay and the bill is evenly divided among the guys!  Usually the more senior you are the more you will pay vs your juniors.

I leave you with 3 minutes of the Cheerleaders... before my battery died!
