Naha has so many little cozy spots to drink and had a quick beer at this little make shift bar on the corner of a larger beer garden space. 

3 local Okinawan ladies rizzing up the bartender from mainland Japan.

Just enough space for 3-4 people.

ROPPONGI ICHOME: The Grill Republic Chicago Pizza & Beer for their limited Lasagna Lunch! So much anticipation!! (Sony RX100, D7100)

When I spot Lasagna in Tokyo its all me!  The Grill Republic offers only 10 for lunch and was the first customer at 11:30am just for this!

Drink and soup bar.  Ice tea and fruit water.

Lots of great looking Chicago Pizza options... but I held back. 

Lunch set includes a salad of your choice and main dish.

Must have been consommé soup with mushrooms. 

To my left a huge counter seat with lots of craft beers on tap... to the far end the kitchen. 

Here it is!! My Lasagna

Came with a few slices of bread.

A few bits and it sure was mushy... 2 thin slices of Lasagna noodles, a creamy cheese, layer of mozzarella and basically Bolognese pasta sauce in between.  Flavor lacked... no Ricotta cheese... it was just so bland.  Really wanted to give up 1/3 of the way thru but simply didn`t finish it all.

Definitely DON`T get the Lasagna and give the Chicago Pizza a try!   Located in Roppongi Arc Hills and lunch goers seemed to all be salary men and women from the offices above.  Back in the day I interviewed at Credit Suisse here.... Very out of the way for lunch explorers. Won`t be back.

OKINAWA NAHA: Shimaneko Craft Beer! Super friendly American couple runs the spot. (Sony RX100)

When everything seems nearly deserted on Kokusai Street in Naha you gotta venture into the maze of small restaurants in the old Mitsukoshi Building... everyone was here!  

But on the basement floor all the way at the very back there is a super cozy craft beer spot called Shimaneko Craft Beer.  Chatted up the American bartender to find out he and his wife run the place. 

Lots of old rock tunes on the BGM.  

Nago Beer was all me!  First time to try it and super smooth... In the supermarket or convenience stores you will see it labeled 75.  7 is Nana and 5 is Go thus Na-Go.  Only about 200 yen a can.

Great long counter seating.  During my 30 minutes there it was an all American crowd.  I guess there is really no pub culture in Okinawa so didn't spot any Japanese people.  Just a guy on a date with a local lady. 

Definitely worth the visit... lots of friendly folks to chat up.

DAIKANYAMA: Spring Valley Brewery (SVB) Tokyo for a solid lunch chili burger! Very nice. (SONY RX100M3)

Clients visiting from Bend Oregon and needed to find a spot that could accommodate 10 people...

Lunch menu had such a variety of options like pasta, grilled fish and burgers. 

Most of guest were ordering 496 Beer... had to join.

All lunch meals includes a salad and drink.

What happened to my chili?   The melted cheddar cheese engulfs the chili nicely so there is no spillage!  What a clever way to keep diners from making a mess.

The bread was perfectly chewy, huge cut of fresh tomato inside, the patty had a great meaty texture very similar to BLACOWS and chili just enough to add a nice variety in flavor.  This brewery sure has one solid 1,300 yen burger!  

Not a coffee guy so got an ice tea as my lunch drink combo selection.

Some people at the table got the pasta, grilled fish and fish & chips.... these didn't look very appealing at all. The pasta volume was sooooo minimal, the fish included a bed of mushy looking rice that reminded me of airplane food and the Fish & Chips was not visually interesting.

Didn't venture inside but it sure looked very spacious.  What I noticed most was people dining with their dogs in the outside dining area... gotta support pet friendly restaurants.  If at SVB definitely get the burger!
