TOKYO DOME CITY: Bubba Gump Shrimp... high prices, mediocre food and 10% service charge. PASS.

In Tokyo Dome to watch the 2018 Rice Bowl and this was the only restaurant that didn't have a massive line on a New Years Sunday.  Unfortunately they didn't have the 970 yen lunch menu available this day.

Regular draft beer 780 yen.  Pricey for Japan.

If you need service flip the license plate.

Bubba's Far Out Dip... it is what it is... dip.  The nachos were very crispy fresh.

Bucket of shrimp for a massive 2,000 yen... really?

Yup, 10% service charge tacked on to the bill.

Bubba Gump Japan is definitely a skip... everything was just so overpriced.  At least give us some kind of lunch menu or happy hour. Never Again. Oh, one silver lining... out young waitress was spot on attentive.

MATSUYAMA OKAIDO STATION: Salvatore Cuomo Pizzeria at Daiwa Ryonet Hotel for Breakfast Buffet! Ho hum... but lots of items.

One night business trip to Matsuyama... I have never ventured to Shikoku "four provinces" island before. Really need to start exploring Japan more.  Oh! My round trip ticket with this fabulous hotel (restaurant is on 1F) was only 27,000 yen via JAL Pack Online.  Wow... cheap.

Breakfast coupon was included in my trip package but there is an option to redeem this for 1,200 yen.  If I knew of the quality of food I would have redeemed it for sure.

Lots of Japanese and Western options at the breakfast buffet but everything very mediocre.  Perhaps its because I was out with my business associated the night before and had a bit of a hang over.

I'd definitely skip breakfast here and try somewhere else for 1,200 yen unless you love to eat alot then this buffet might be for you!

Now for the best part of the trip.  This is the newest hotel near the castle and absolutely fantastic!! Brand new, rather spacious for a business hotel, CLEAN and the window was from floor to ceiling!  I dread staying in business hotels because most are old, tiny windows, dusty and occasionally reek of cigarette smoke.

Massive shower bathtub area!  WOW!! Loved this!!!

And to top things off they use Imabari Towels that are the most famous towels in all of Japan. They are made in the Ehime area of Shikoku Islands.  WOW!

If you are visiting Matsuyama you MUST stay at the Daiwa Roynet Hotel!  Super easy transportation from the airport by bus for about 600 yen... GO GO!  As for the restaurant a pass for breakfast.

KICHIJOJI: Shimonya Yakitori... super salaryman spot with 100 yen skewers!

Wanted to try someplace super friendly on the wallet and came across Shimon-Ya Yakitori on my favorite foodie site Tabelog.  Sticks start at only 100 yen!

All dudes with one or 2 couples... fortunately the e-cigarettes are gaining popularity and there were unusually no smokers until the very end of our stay.

Motsu nikomi rice... blah.

Liver! I think... most were 100 yen.

Draft and bottle beers are 500 yen.

My American friend likes to order without any seasoning... just plain.  Rarely do I see people order it this way but there was a word he was using that sounded like "soy-yaki" that didn't do well for our Southeast Asian waiter.  Then he said "aji-nashi" or flavorless.

Bottled beers are Sapporo!  Also spotted someone drinking Ebisu.

Overall its a good spot to spend an hour but I wouldn't stay long as its a bit cramped and smokers will easily fill up this tiny spot with smelly smoke.
