Always like to support new businesses and even more so when its run by an owner chef.

This heavily vegetable oriented bento caught my eye.  Have to pre-order and its only 600 yen.  SO! I ordered for both Thursday and Friday.

Soooooo many different kinds of veggies.  I just felt so healthy after eating this.

One of his customers gave him some cherries... he shared.

The following day I was back to pick up my Friday bento.  Chef was taking pictures so he can remember what he made. 

I scored a shrimp this day!

He also gave me some Tuna rolls... very kind.

Chef Yagi-san has been cooking since he was 16 and after 50 years opened up his own restaurant. I don`t think he uses any kind of SNS and he is not from this area so seemed kinda stressed about customers finding his little restaurant.  He asked me if I like Osake (alcohol) and of course yes!  Will definitely have to stop by for some dinner soon.  If you are in the Nerima area please go!

NERIMA: Tonkatsu Matsunoya has another special! Chicken tender katsu varieties only 500yen April 4-12! (Sony RX100)

Japan can really be a value city if you scour the regular foodie sales.

Matsunoya Tonkatsu has several types of Sasami Katsu (Chicekn Tenders) discounted from 750 yen to 500 yen.

This push button panel can be quite the maze.  Thankfully the sale menu is obvious.

The variety of combos: Potato salad, ponzu with daikon, miso sauce, mustard and garlic butter. 

Then you have free rice upgrade options and if you want a bowl of pork miso soup its an additional 100 yen.  (Tonjiru). 

This is me! Largest portion of Domestic Japanese rice! 350 grams. 

There are counter seats where you are kinda shoulder to shoulder and a few table seating for 2.

I got the Sasami Katsu with Garlic Butter sauce.  This totally reminded me of lobster dip... super tasty but a bit on the salty side. 

Carrot dressing is the best here!  Just add to your sliced cabbage.

Next up add a little tonkatsu sauce with hot yellow mustard.   This is normally best with pork tonkatsu.

Overall the 2 pieces of chicken tenders was rather small with a thick layer of deep fried bread coating. BUT! There is a saying in Japan called `Hara Hachibu` which means stomach 80%... dont eat until you are stuffed.  I will most likely be back to try the other topping options.

NERIMA: Yakiniku Ushi-Melo Izakaya for their rare Tokyo spotting... 1,000 yen Sen-Belo! 3 drinks and 1 plate of meat!! (Sony RX100M2)

Its soooooo rare to see Sen-Belo specials in Tokyo. Sen is Senyen or 1,000 yen and Belo is BeloBelo or Tipsy.  Thus for 1,000 yen you can get tipsy on 3 drinks and usually 1 or 2 dishes.

Very spacious and clean!  As Tokyo starts to uptick so many people stay away from restaurants especially in the burbs.  Only a few tables full at 7pm.

Ok for the 1,100 yen Senbelo deal.  Select 1 meat item from this menu... The prices are actually listed on the grand menu and of course I went for the most expensive item!

So the Gyu-Abura-Hatsu was the most expensive! 748 yen with tax.

Sen-Belo drink menu.  All the huge bottles of sake were crossed off. 

Rare spotting.  Suntory Premium Malts Ale! Incredibly smooth... 462 yen.

The fatty parts melted away... very tender. 

Japanese 80s JPOP on the BGM.  Seem to be targeting an older crowd or those tunes your parents listened to.  A few college girls were dining this night. 

Bottle Keep area... don't need to finish it in one seating. Save it for next time.

Spicy sweet Korean hot paste. Tasty.

3rd drink! Yogurt Lemonade Sour 539 yen!

This was sooo good.  There is a chunk of frozen yogurt inside... just mix and it really mellows out the flavor.  A must! YUM

Near the entrance there is a counter section for solo diners... but the staff gave me the option to sit at a table that seats about 3-4. 

The damage! 1,100 yen with tax.  One of the best Senbelo deals I have ever tried. The quality of drinks and food top notch! MUST GOOO!!!

I went back a few days later and had the most expensive drink! 550 yen for the ZakuZaku Yogurt Cassis Soda!  It was a bit sweet but very premium! Anyways have a great day!
