I think this shop is associated with Takoya-No-Curry Yasan (蛸屋のカレー屋さん)... they are using the same little figures to exchange for drinks.

A bit greasy but the deep fried squid legs was goood!  

Friend ordered the 6 piece Takoyaki.

Friend only drinks Asahi Beer and Kurokirishima Shochu... I rarely see my Okinawan friends drinking Orion beer. 

The staff was friendly and everyone seemed to be from Nepal.  Okinawa seems to have a big Nepalese community that you can often spot working at Izakaya`s or convenient stores.. they are multi-lingual! Overall its a very casual spot with a nice counter seating area overlooking the chef.

Not too much of a Takoyaki fan and might eat it once every few years... you all know the Gindako franchise in Tokyo. BUT when in Osaka you gotta gooo.

Arrived about 4:30pm and noticed 15 takoyaki`s on the grill.

Options are Taco, A5/A4 Wagyu Beef or half and half. 

Ordered the 680 yen 12 combo but Osaka residents are well known to give freebies.  So!  The chef gave me 3 extra pieces for free.  In Japanese this is known as Oh-mah-keh (おまけ）

Looking good! There is counter seating for about 5 inside the restaurant... but decided to enjoy this at my hotel.  Chef recommended Mayu and dried bonito topping.

A5 / A4 Wagyu beef... very flavorful!  Tokyo takoyaki is kinda of junky food but this has such a well rounded flavor. 

Octopus... quite tiny pieces but still very good. 

Overall this place seems to be a favorite among locals with great reviews online.  If in the area please stop by!

ROPPONGI: Gindako for some very nice Takoyaki! Takeout was extremely busy.

I always pass by this spot but never ventured inside for a beer and takoyaki.

They have various sets where you can save 100yen on the combo.

Went with the 4 piece set for 310yen... the more you order the cheaper it gets per ball.

There was one tiny tiny bathroom for both males and females with the sink outside in the restaurant area... ladies I dont suggest using this.

Overall a great little spot just to kill a little time... Takoyaki is more like a snack to hold you over.

IKEBUKURO: 290 yen Takoyaki at Koike Izakaya.... FYI Beers now 200 yen on Fridays!!

Takoyaki on sale from 380yen to 290yen.... I think this sign is permanent.

And there you go... easy easy.  Little flower balls with a small piece of boiled octopus inside and topped with a kinda sweet sauce.

Its a dream come true!  Beers on Fridays are no longer 280yen but 200yen!  

I guess I'll be here on Fridays too~.
