OKINAWA NAHA: Waya Izakaya for a bit of Awamori and Oden... 1,000 yen Senbelo. (Sony RX100)

There are so many side streets in the huge maze of an Shopping Arcade in Naha.  Decided to give Waya a try!  

The Choi-Nomi (little bit drinking) 1,000 yen set includes 2 drinks and 2 oden selections.

We were in a group of 5 so got about 10 pieces.

Scored me the seaweed!  Great for your hair.

Overall you will definitely find better 1,000 yen senbelo food items in the area but the 2 waitresses were soooo friendly and chatted us up thru the evening.  Public restroom is in this alley!

OKINAWA NAHA: Pink Shisa for a shot of 500 yen Okinawan Awamori! Well make that 2. (Sony RX100)

Did you know Okinawa Awamori sake is made from Thai Rice rather than Japanese Rice? A bottle is normally 35-40 proof and 500ml of it at the supermarket is about 500 yen.

So after a few drinks one of my friends spotted a pretty lady selling shots of Awamori for 500 yen.  This dude can never say no to a pretty face. 

She poured 2 shots.

One for her and one for him... what about us?

Anyways when in Okinawa they do serve Awamori shots!  A nice alternative to Tequila.

Okinawa trip with some friends and to close out the holiday we hit up Kinaguu Shabu Shabu!

Our 5,800 yen course for the night. 

3 types of seasoning plus 2 Otoshi dishes. 

Look at all these veggies! Some I have never seen before.

There is one dedicated waitress/waiter per table that explains all the cuts of pork and which seasoning to dip in into. 

Umibudou (Ocean grapes) wrapped in Agu... interesting! 

Japanese shabu shabu always closes with ramen or egg/rice stirred into the remaining soup.  The oils from the agu had a nice mellow flavor.
