HARAJUKU: The Great Burger 6th Anniversary Event... all you can eat Burgers! Maxed out at 2 :(

Got an invite from Yamaguchi-san (one of the friendly burger chefs) and off I went to see how many burgers I could consume... unfortunately it was only 2 :(

Chef Yamaguchi-san pictured here with the 2 drinks.

KIRKLAND!

I was fairly shocked to see they were using frozen burger patties... could it be from COSTCO like much of the other finger foods, bagels and etc?  They have an awesome chili topping but this frozen spotting is giving second thoughts about this shop.  And I raved about it tooooo....

Costco appetizers to hold us over til the burgers were done...

Just an update blog update to let you know they consolidate 2 shops into one large location... give it a try :).

Oh a bit of bad news for Hawaii fans... Teddy's Bigger Burger is shutting down on November 24, 2013.  I think massive burgers are great for the US but Japaense diners are incredibly selective and I think they just couldn't compete.  Need rethink their menu and concept before trying again... or they should create a Hawaii themed pancake spot thats currently the boom in Tokyo.

TOKYO SKY TREE TOWN: Rokurinsha for Tsukemen,.. hugely popular but why?

I finally had a chance to climb Tokyo Sky Tree and a ramen foodie friend of mine (a lady~) said that one of her favorite ramen spots was Rokurin-Sha.

Randomly found it and had to reconfirm with another die hard ramen foodie... he said it was wildly popular. Sooooo I had to give it a try!

Ramen menu is also in English.

There are 3 choices but I went for the basic 850yen Tsukemen "Atsumori" (with hot noodles).

Noodles were nice and thick... had a bit of al'dente vs chewy.

The soup was a bit too watered down for me... I tend to enjoy more muddy soup that clings to the noodles.

2 pieces of tender char-siu.

First ramen spot I've seen to that had a nice clientele of grannies, young couples, girls and the usual salarymen/guys.

Wow...  looks like there are times the line extends around the shop and down the hall.  Count me out for that line...

Overall I really wasn't very impressed.  I think I'd take Tsukemen TETSU or Menya SanMaruGo over Rokurinsha any day of the week.

Next door to Sempre Pizzeria is... Ochobo Taiyaki.

Tiny little pancake shaped fish with lots of different fillings... I ordered a random bag and found a bit of sweet potato, chocolate, caramel and other stuff.

Nice and fluffy... good stuff
