OIZUMIGAKUEN: Doma Doma Izakaya... oh the pain of bad food~

I totally forgot about the Doma Doma adventure I had one station over in Hoya and unfortunately walked into another branch...ugh... and Wara-Wara was on the 2nd floor too... double ugh...  Anyways we went for the 1,200yen all you can drink plan.

Ordered the fried shrimp... it just looked so creepy with heads missing... tails missing... very few were intact.

Fish that's torched... no longer offer on the table torching.

Egg with bean sprouts and pork underneath.

We were required to order 2 items each for the nomihoudai plan but we agreed ordering more mediocre food just wasn't the right thing to do.  Doma Doma Izakaya Franchise! I won't return ever never ever~. Oh, the menu lacks large pictures and isn't foreigner friendly like Wara-Wara Izakaya.

AZABU JUBAN: Ta=Chika Okinawan Restaurant... 3 fans spewing hot air!

Finally Azabu Juban.... Hope to post more in this expat and celebrity town.  A group of 4 of us headed to Ta-Chica ターチカ for a bit of classy Okinawan food~.

Went for the Butano-Kakuni (seasoned block pork), Okinawan Soba, Goya Champuru and some seasoned veggies... all for 1,000yen.

Of the tree of us one gal had this #2 selection... ankake something.

My Plate!  It was very nicely presented for Okinawan.  I'm a huge fan of Oki and of course I totally recommend you give Shinjuku's (Kabukucho) Okinawan Paradise Izakaya with friendly service, live music n cozy interior.. Plus great casual food.   The Okinawan soba here was all wrong... noodles way too al'dente and lacked any chewiness and the broth had no depth.

The best part of the meal was this huge fried rice ball with pieces of seasoned pork chunks inside.  When you are halfway done ask for a container of hot broth to mix into the rice to make it soupy like ochazuke.

See that's Fan #1 on the floor there...  yeah, we were all sweating in this basement restaurant.

And fan #2 and #3 also surrounded us... but with nearly no air conditioning it was quite uncomfortable.  Interior consisted of an L shaped counter overlooking the chef, private tatami seating for about 10 and two tables for 4.

Anyways... the basement branch Ta-Chica is a bit fancy and the ladies said the 3rd floor Taachi is a bit more casual as I noticed their lunch board outside with Taco Rice for 850yen.   The volume was absolutely fantastic but it was just too warm downstairs.  If you don't mind sweating a little then go!  Nearly 90% of the clientele were OL's!  Japan is safe... pets always tied up outside.

ROPPONGI: Salsa Sudada! Amazing service, tasty food and dancing~

The days are getting shorter in Tokyo... beautiful sunset this Saturday evening.

I rarely go to Salsa but Groupon had a offer too good to resist!  Salsa Sudada nomihoudai (all you can drink) and a choice of 5 Tapa's for 1,250yen (normally 2500 yen). http://www.salsa-sudada.jp/menu/

I stepped into Salsa Sudada and was greeted in Spanish by a big cuban guy in his 40-50's or so.  Super friendly and guided me to the waitress who had the nicest smile.  This place was just so friendly...

Started off with the 1st Tapas tabla ibrica normally 1,500yen.   Great wtih beer~

2nd Tapas... clams in a tomato based soup.

Fresh seafood platter and a cheesy gratin.

Probably my favorite item of the night... boiled squid in very tasty black squid sauce (ikasumi).

The gang was mostly nuclear reactor engineers...

Few great dancers here and there.

We ate, drank and danced for 3 hours or so... normally 2 hour all you can drink plans have a last call at the 90 minute mark but this place let us drink for the entire 2 hours.  If you are in the area definitely give this place a try!  I have a few more groupon tickets so I'll be back soon :)

HARAJUKU: Cafe Hohokam... Ho Ho Hum... free wet sneezes with your burger~

Cafe Hohokam is produced by The Great Burger and I had to give it a go but was a bit worried that the menu and flavor would be identical... Oh its around the corner from Stay Real~.

Walk into a long alley way... up to the 2nd floor.

Three counter seats, interior seating and lots of outside seating on the 2nd floor terrace...

The 2nd floor terrace.

Bilingual Menu... for lunch you can select a burger, fries (free Oomori - extra upgrade) and a drink of your choice....

While I was looking at the menu the skinny chef in dreads was sneezing into his arm and when his hands were busy preparing the burgers he just sneezed openly in the kitchen.... Hygiene F+.

Service lacked the friendly smiles and welcomes of The Great Burger a few blocks away towards Shibuya.

Chili chili...

My candid video of the interior.

The french fries were nice and big... The chili had a nice sweetness to it and the burger patty was firm and chunky... nothing like BLACOWS or HUNGRY HEAVEN with their very juicy flavorful patties.

Overall Hohokam was a bit boring and service lacked that friendliness of The Great Burger.  If you want an amazing Chili Burger then definitely hit up Hungry Heaven in Meguro or Kamiitabashi:
I won't be back to Hohokam...

And I leave you with a Ferrari 458 spotting in the area... lots of Porsche and Ferrari spottings this day.
