OKINAWA YAESE: Agu Pig Specialty Restaurant Nangokutei... the huge Agu painting caught my eye! (SONY RX100)

Had no intention of eating a late lunch after visiting the Okinawa Peace Memorial Park but this huge painting of an Agu pig caught my eye!  http://sp.heiwa-irei-okinawa.jp/

Interior was all wood! Like a huge log cabin. 

The price for a mini soba went up from 500 yen to 650 yen. 

Asked the waitress if she recommended the soba or the agu cutlet... she didn't respond too quickly... guess everything is rather mediocre here. 

So went for the Agu pork cutlet (tonkatsu) and for an additional 100 yen you can switch the teishoku soup to Okinawa Soba!

The noodles were oddly mushy... hmm...

Agu was so thin and extremely greasy... ugh.  I only hate half.  

My Okinawan friend said they don't raise Agu at this farm but they do sell the meat here.  So he suggested its best not to eat here but buy the pork and cook it at home.

NERIMAKASUGACHO: Donto Izakaya... lots of lunch variety but price point rather high 1,200 yen. (SONY RX100M3)

The son of a friend of mine owns Donto Izakaya and stopped by with him for lunch.

There are about 5 lunch sets and you can choose 2 small sides.

I went for the Tempura but honestly it was sooooo greasy... always had a film of grease on my lips.  

Honestly probably one of my least favorite tempura ventures in a loooong while...  But lots of items.

You can choose from white or multi grain ruce.

Friend ordered the sushi bowl!  This looked sooo good.... ugh.

Overall I guess its a hit and miss when ordering things from the menu but I just couldn't get a feel for what was the house specialty...  Might be a nice cozy spot to go for dinner.

NERIMAKASUGACHO: Hasegawa Sushi Lunch... the most basic Sushi-Teishoku Set with PAYPAY! (Canon S120)

Local sushi shop with really reasonable prices and had to check out the 800 yen lunch Sushi-Tei set.

They brought out a set of chopsticks in this box... nice. 

Nice counter seating area for 5-6.

Here we go!  This is what 800 yen will get you in Tokyo.  

My fav!  Tuna...

My least favorite is the hikarimono (shiny fish)... 

If you need wasabi just ask the staff "Wasabi Kudasai"

First time to discover somen noodles in miso soup. 

Not for me....

... this was the only sushi I didn't touch and later apologized to the sushi chef.

Interesting counter wood... it absorbs water.

As of October 1st Japanese consumption tax has risen from 8% to 10% but there are so many Cashless apps that are providing great cash back incentives... Used Paypay and got 100 yen credit. 

I think I prefer Sushizanmai to the basic sushi set here... but its very cozy and seemed to have quite a few regulars.
