SHIMBASHI: Nomisho Kei tiny tiny shop with seasoned tuna bowls! Lots of volume for 800yen.

Shimbashi Ekimae Building kinda in Shimbashi and bordering Shiodome has a bunch of tiny little restaurants that must have been here for years.

In Hawaii I love Poke Bowls so the closest I can get to that here in Japan is a seasoned Maguro Yukhoe spicy bowl (Korean spices).

Tiny tiny... people lined shoulder to shoulder.

This thing was so huge... I kinda got tired of eating so much tuna.

Seasoned so well and the seasoning seeps into the rice.... yum.

Self serve water.  Oh when the food comes out you have to pay the little elderly waitress up front.  She was getting yelled at a bit from the chef in his late 30's... maybe it was her son?

If at Shimbashi station definitely stroll into this building with lots of local lunch options that include ramen, curry and fish.  There were no foreigners this day but give it a try!

HIROO: Hana Hana...OMG Absolutely fantastic bowl of Okinawan soba with a huge melty braised pork belly (rafuteh)! I'm a FAN!

I was headed to a popular gyoza place I always wanted to try but the couple that was about to enter ahead of me said should we go here or goto the Okinawan restaurant.  Wait... Okinawan in HIROO! I followed them to the Okinawan spot Hana Hana Shokudo and it was the perfect decision.

Long L shaped counter seating on the 1st floor and tables on the 2nd.

Orion Draft Beer is only 350 yen!!

Someone on the 2nd floor ordered Rafute / Kakuni too.

OMG The pork belly was sooooo super melty tender and sooo tasty!

I can't belive I only paid 1,000 yen for the soba and jushi seasoned rice.

My grandma used to make me Jushi-Meh when I was little.

Shared bathroom but super clean and unusually spacious.

I will be back again!  Such a great experience and the BGM music was all classic popular Okinawan tunes.  I chatted up the waiter... he was from Kawasaki... and the chef... he was from Chiba.  

Go go! Oh they just opened late in 2016 so still new.

EBISU: Tendon Tenya... for a quick 500 yen Tempura bowl! Cheap Japanese eats franchise style...

Japan has so many of these little quick in and out restaurants. 

Super filling if you are on a budget.

Don't see these very often anymore but a huge Hummer parked near by.
